A borough is an administrative division in various English-speaking countries. In principle, the term ''borough'' designates a self-governing walled town, although in practice, official use of the term varies widely. Rosarito Beach Municipality
Playas de Rosarito Municipality ( es, Municipio de Playas de Rosarito) is located in the northwestern part of the Mexican state of Baja California comprising part of the Tijuana metropolitan area. It lies just south of the city of Tijuana. Its municipal seat is the city of Rosarito. According to the 2020 census, the municipality had a population of 126,890 inhabitants. Rancho Cueros De Venado
Rancho Cueros de Venado ("Hides of Deer") was an 1835 land grant in the vicinity of the Pueblo of San Diego of Alta California, and whose site is in present-day Tijuana in Baja California, Mexico. An ''expediente'' was submitted on August 29, 1835. The rancho was owned and occupied by Juan María Marrón in 1836. The rancho was already established in 1836 when it was attacked by the Kumeyaay people at the beginning of their hostilities against the ranchos of the San Diego region. Its defenders managed to kill several of the attackers and repelled the raid. The grant, being wholly in Mexican territory, was never presented before the Land Commission of the state of California. The rancho was located in the mountains southeast of the Rancho Tía Juana and northeast of the Rancho El Rosario within the strip of Alta California left to Mexico by the 1848 Treaty of Guadalupe Hidalgo. Juan María Marrón
Juan María Marrón (February 8, 1808 – September 17, 1853) was an early settler of San Diego, California. Life Marrón was a ship's captain before settling San Diego in the early 1820s. In 1834 Marrón, married Felipa Osuna (c. 1818 – December 21, 1871), the daughter of Juan María Osuna. They had three sons and one daughter. Marrón served as the first Alcade of the Pueblo of San Diego during 1 January 1835–1836. He also served as Regidor (Alderman) and Juez de Paz (Justice of the Peace). He is known to have owned the Rancho Cueros de Venado, located southeast of what is now Tijuana, from sometime before 1836.
