La Broquerie, Manitoba
La Broquerie is a local urban district in the Rural Municipality of La Broquerie, Manitoba, Canada. It is a predominantly Francophone community located approximately 10 kilometres east of Steinbach, Manitoba and 70 kilometres southeast of the provincial capital Winnipeg, at the confluence of Highways 52, 210, and 302. For most of the community’s history, La Broquerie has been ranked as Manitoba’s largest dairy producer. A distinctive display at the south entrance to the community features a moderately sized, decorative cow. The area's geography makes it attractive to winter sports. One can snowmobile and cross-country ski along the nature trails in the town as well as throughout the entire Sandilands Provincial Forest area. The community also has a golf course, La Verendrye Golf, named after the family of 18th century explorers. Daniel Tetrault
Daniel Tetrault (born September 4, 1979) is a Canadian professional ice hockey defenceman, having last played for and was a team captain with the Rapid City Rush of the ECHL. Tetrault was originally drafted 91st overall by the Montreal Canadiens in the 1997 NHL Entry Draft. From 2017 to 2021, he was head coach of the Rapid City Rush, leading the team to a 116–134–25 record over four seasons and never making a playoff appearance. Mélanie Rocan
Mélanie Rocan (born 1980) is a Canadian artist from La Broquerie, Manitoba. She works mostly in various paint mediums. She also has been known to work in multimedia, especially when working collaboratively. Education Rocan began her undergraduate education at the University of Ottawa in 1999, and received her Bachelor of Fine Arts with Honours from the University of Manitoba in 2003. Having gone on exchange to Glasgow School of Art in 2005, she received her Master of Fine Arts from Concordia University's painting program in 2008. Career Besides her exhibition career, Rocan has held the Deep Bay, British Columbia, Deep Bay Artists’ Residency in 2014. Carillon Senior Hockey League
Carillon Senior Hockey League is a Canadian senior men's ice hockey league that plays out of southeastern Manitoba. It is affiliated with Hockey Manitoba, the provincial branch of Hockey Canada. History The league was created in 2003 on the premise that local teams should have local players. The existing senior league at the time, the Hanover-Taché Hockey League (HTHL), included a large number of imported players. During its first season, the CSHL was operated as an independent league and did not have accreditation from Hockey Manitoba. 2021 Canadian Census
The 2021 Canadian census was a detailed enumeration of the Canadian population with a reference date of May 11, 2021. It follows the 2016 Canadian census, which recorded a population of 35,151,728. The overall response rate was 98%, which is slightly lower than the response rate for the 2016 census. It recorded a population of 36,991,981, a 5.2% increase from 2016. Planning Consultation on census program content was from September 11 to December 8, 2017. The census was conducted by Statistics Canada, and was contactless as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic in Canada. The agency had considered delaying the census until 2022.
