LG Cyon
Cyon is LG Electronics' Korean mobile phone brand. LG established the brand in 1997. Like all other mobile phone brands in Korea, they feature the latest technologies such as cameras, Internet access, and TV through IP. Origin of the name From the original "Hwatong(화통)" it is renamed several times, into "Freeway" and then "CiON" or "CION", meaning a descendant of a noble blood. And then it is respelled into "CyON", and later to "CYON". When it was being respelled into CyON, it is said that the name was loosely derived from "cyber-on", implying connectivity to the "cyberspace"(or "cybernetic space"), where, in turn, "cyber-" and "cybernetics" find its etymology in Greek κυβερνήτης(steersman, skipper, guide, governor). Anycall () was a South Korean mobile phone brand established by Samsung Electronics in 1993. Like other mobile phone brands in South Korea, they provide technology such as cameras, internet access, and digital TV through Digital Multimedia Broadcasting. Samsung mobile phones were sold through the Anycall brand in South Korea and the greater China region prior to 2011. VK Mobile
VK Mobile was a South Korean company specialising in manufacturing mobile phone terminals. It was part of the brand name VK (short for ''Viable Korea'') which was established in 2001. It originally started as an importer of Lithium ion polymer batteries for mobile phones in 1997, but began production of its own batteries in 2000 and mobile phones in 2001. VK Mobile targeted primarily markets in Japan, Hong Kong, China, Europe, Australia, Taiwan, United States and Canada. The main technology has been CDMA and PCS but there have been also plans to expand into other areas. The CEO of the company, Yi Cheol-sang, was already famous before he started business as one of the leaders of South Korean student activism.
