LAT TV
LAT TV was a Spanish-language television network emphasizing family-oriented and educational programming. It was owned by Latin America Broadcasting of Houston, Texas and launched in May 2006, initially on five low-power television stations in Texas and Arizona, four of which were in top-ten Hispanic markets. The network folded in May 2008. History LAT TV launched on May 19, 2006 with television stations in Houston, Austin, Dallas-Fort Worth and San Antonio, Texas, and in Phoenix, Arizona. On April 10, 2007, LAT TV announced a partnership with Equity Media Holdings that would affiliate 26 stations owned or controlled by Equity with LAT TV, effective May 30, 2007. The new affiliation expanded LAT TV coverage to 31 stations and to 27 markets in 15 states. Citing a lack of investments caused by a lack of cable carriage, the network shut down May 20, 2008. KISA-LD, virtual channel 40 ( UHF digital channel 22), is a low-powered QVC- affiliated television station licensed to San Antonio, Texas, United States. The station is owned by HC2 Holdings. History On January 22, 1992, the FCC granted a construction permit to San Antonio College to build a new station to broadcast on UHF channel 48, and assigned the call sign K48DS. Signing on in January 1994, the station broadcast educational programming. The FCC allocated channel 48 for ABC affiliate KSAT-TV (channel 12)'s digital operations in April 1997, and San Antonio College tried to move the station to channel 46, but were denied permission to do so. By April 2002, KSAT-DT signed on, and K48DS was forced to shut down. KJJM-LD, virtual channel 34 ( VHF digital channel 12), is a low-powered HSN- affiliated television station licensed to Dallas and Mesquite, Texas, United States and serving the Dallas– Fort Worth Metroplex. It is owned and operated by HC2 Holdings. It is not available on Charter Spectrum or FiOS from Frontier at this time. History The station was first established as K46EV on channel 46 as a FamilyNet affiliate, then on February 18, 2000, the call letters changed to KJJM. In 2005, the station moved its broadcasts to channel 34 to make way for KTAQ's channel 46 digital signal, and switched affiliates to LAT TV in 2006. History The license was initially established in 1978 as translator K63AY by Pompey Mountain Broadcasting in Mullin. It was displaced to channel 17 as K17GH. The station was originally an affiliate of LAT TV, a Houston-based Spanish-language television network that launched in May 2006; however, the network folded 2 years later in 2008. The station is owned by Estrella Media of Burbank, California. History An original construction permit for what is now KVPA-LP was granted to Broadcast Systems, Inc. on March 21, 1995 as K24EI in Phoenix, to broadcast on channel 24. The original transmitter location was on Usery Mountain in east Mesa, and the station was first licensed November 15, 1996. Topo Gigio () originally known as "COCO GIGIO" was the lead character of a children's puppet show on Italian television in the early 1960s. The character, created in 1958 by artist Maria Perego, her husband Federico Caldura, and fellow artist Guido Stagnaro, debuted on Italian television in 1959 and has been customarily voiced by actor Giuseppe "Peppino" Mazzullo and later Davide Garbolino. The Italian nickname "Gigi" is a derivative of Luigi ("Louis"), so ''Topo Gigio'' could be translated as ''Louie Mouse''.
