Lóránd Fráter (film)
''Lóránd Fráter'' (Hungarian: ''Fráter Loránd'') is a 1942 Hungarian musical comedy film directed by László Kalmár and starring Antal Páger, László Szilassy and Bea Goll. Rîpeanu p.189 It was shot at the Hunnia Studios in Budapest. The film's sets were designed by the art director József Simoncsics. Synopsis A young actor is playing the role of the famous composer Lóránd Fráter in a theatre production. This impresses Pannika, but her mother who knew the real composer and was courted by her years before, considers him to be a fraud. The actor tries to pretend that he is really the son of the composer, who is then drawn into his efforts to woo Pannika. László Kalmár (director)
László Kalmár (1900–1980) was a Hungarian screenwriter and film director. Cunningham p.37 He began his career in the Horthy era, learning his craft as an assistant director before directing his first film in 1939. His melodrama ''Flames (1941 film), Flames'' was screened at the 9th Venice International Film Festival (void), 1941 Venice Film Festival. He was able to continue his career at the end of the Second World War, unlike many other Hungarian filmmakers, and transitioned to working under the new Hungarian People's Republic, Communist regime. Nusi Somogyi
Nusi Somogyi (born Anna Irén Somogyi; March 3, 1890 – October 8, 1963) was a Hungarian film and stage actress. Biography Somogyi was the daughter of master brewer István Somogyi Hollósi and Anna Mesterházy. She studied at the Deák tér Reformed Civil School in Budapest, and then became a student at the acting school of the National Actors' Association. She appeared on stage in Kecskemét with Miklós Mariházy's troupe, then Sándor Rott invited her to the Folies Caprice and was also a member of the Jardin de Paris. In the summer of 1910, she joined the National Theatre of Szeged, where Jenő Krémer was the director. Then, at the invitation of László Beöthy, she signed a contract with the Király Theater, where she replaced Juci Lábass in the Sybill operetta after the 35th performance until the 100th performance, due to the actress' illness.
