Badminton
Badminton is a racquet sport played using racquets to hit a shuttlecock across a net. Although it may be played with larger teams, the most common forms of the game are "singles" (with one player per side) and "doubles" (with two players per side). Badminton is often played as a casual outdoor activity in a yard or on a beach; formal games are played on a rectangular indoor court. Points are scored by striking the shuttlecock with the racquet and landing it within the opposing side's half of the court. Each side may only strike the shuttlecock once before it passes over the net. Play ends once the shuttlecock has struck the floor or if a fault has been called by the umpire, service judge, or (in their absence) the opposing side. The shuttlecock is a feathered or (in informal matches) plastic projectile which flies differently from the balls used in many other sports. Sawan Serasinghe
Sawan Serasinghe (born 21 February 1994) is a former badminton player from Australia. He won seven Oceania Championships titles, five in the men's doubles and two in the mixed doubles. Serasinghe competed in the men's doubles event at the 2016 Summer Olympics alongside Matthew Chau. Career Serasinghe started playing badminton since the age of five, he was born in Galle, Sri Lanka, and moved to Australia when he was 11-years-old. He trains at the National Training Centre in Melbourne, and took out back-to-back Oceania Championships titles with Chau in 2015 and 2016. The 22-year-old also won the 2014 Sydney International Challenge mixed doubles with Setyana Mapasa, against some of the best players in the world. The Melburnian's first international experience was at the 2013 Australian Youth Olympic Festival where he competed in the men's doubles with Chau and also took the court in the men's singles competition. Saipan

Ada Gym
Gilbert C. Ada Gymnasium is a multi-purpose sports indoor facility. It is one of the facilities that the Oleai Sports Complex contains. A major renovation project was completed in 2017. It is mostly used for Marianas Soccer League matches. Basketball Basketball rounds and events are held here at weekly basis. Saipan was the host city for the FIBA Oceania Championship, 2009 Oceania Basketball Tournament. For that reason the venue was the Gilbert C. Ada Gymnasium. Nonetheless, there was concern over the overall condition of the gym; there was need for ventilation, improved lighting, and other elements. Tennis Tennis and its variants are also frequently played at the indoor gym.
