Lyudmila Ilyinichna Maslakova (russian: Людмила Ильинична Маслакова, née , Zharkova; born 26 February 1952 in Astrakhan) is a Soviet athlete who competed mainly in the 100 metres. Career Maslakova trained at VSS Trud in Sverdlovsk and later at Burevestnik in Moscow. She competed for the USSR in the 1968 Summer Olympics held in Mexico City, Mexico in the 4 x 100 metres where she won the bronze medal with her teammates Galina Bukharina, Vera Popkova and Lyudmila Samotyosova. Her next Olympic medal came in the 1976 Summer Olympics held in Montreal, Quebec, Canada again in the 4 x 100 metres where she won the bronze medal with her teammates Tatyana Prorochenko, Nadezhda Besfamilnaya and Vera Anisimova. Astrakhan
Astrakhan ( rus, Астрахань, p=ˈastrəxənʲ) is the largest city and administrative centre of Astrakhan Oblast in Southern Russia. The city lies on two banks of the Volga, in the upper part of the Volga Delta, on eleven islands of the Caspian Depression, 60 miles (100 km) from the Caspian Sea, with a population of 475,629 residents at the 2021 Census. At an elevation of below sea level, it is the lowest city in Russia. Vera Ivanovna Popkova (russian: Вера Ивановна Попкова) (2 April 1943 – 29 September 2011)Although English language obituaries give her date of death as 2 October, her obituary in Russian (published 29 September) gives 29 September was a Soviet Union, Soviet track and field athlete who competed in the sprint (running), sprints. She had personal bests of 11.3 seconds for the 100 metres and 23.0 seconds for the 200 metres. Over her career, she won eight individual national titles in the sprints (five outdoors and three indoors). She came to prominence by winning medals in the sprints at the 1963 Summer Universiade and the 1966 European Athletics Championships. Her greatest successes came with the Soviet relay team: in 1968 she helped set two list of world records in athletics, world records in the 4×100 m relay and won an Olympic bronze medal at the 1968 Mexico City Games. Natalya Valeryevna Bochina (russian: Наталья Валерьевна Бочина) (born 4 January 1962) is a retired Soviet athlete, who competed mainly in the 200 metres. Bochina trained at Dynamo in Leningrad. Bochina was born in Leningrad and was relatively young, at 18 years of age, when she competed for the USSR in the 1980 Summer Olympics held in Moscow, Soviet Union.
