Lyubov Gershunova
Lyubov Vasilievna Gershunova (russian: Любовь Васильевна Гершунова, 5 August 1947 – 30 October 2006) was a Soviet and Russian ballet dancer, prima ballerina of the Novosibirsk Opera and Ballet Theatre, People's Artist of the RSFSR. Biography Lyubov Gershunova was born in Novosibirsk. She graduated from the . On 1 July 1967, she was invited to the ballet troupe of the Novosibirsk State Academic Opera and Ballet Theater, working there until 31 May 1990. In 1989 she became a soloist of the Balet-Novosibirsk Chamber Theater of Modern and Classical Ballet. She toured Australia, New Zealand, France, Canada, Brazil, Japan, Argentina, and others. The Novosibirsk Opera and Ballet Theatre (the official title is the Novosibirsk State Academic Opera and Ballet Theatre (russian: Новосибирский государственный академический театр оперы и балета)) is a theatre in Novosibirsk and Siberia. People's Artist of the RSFSR (russian: Народный артист РСФСР, ''Narodnyj artist RSFSR'') was an honorary title granted to Soviet Union artists, including theatre and film directors, choreographers, music performers, and orchestra conductors, who had outstanding achievements in the arts, and who lived in the Russian Soviet Federative Socialist Republic (RSFSR). Varna International Ballet Competition
The Varna International Ballet Competition is a biennial ballet competition held in Varna, Bulgaria. The competition was founded in 1964 and subsequently held in 1965 and 1966, and then every two years starting in 1968. Many dancers have gained their first international recognition at the competition. The Medal "For Labour Valour" (russian: Медаль «За трудовую доблесть») was a civilian labour award of the Soviet Union bestowed to especially deserving workers to recognise and honour dedicated and valorous labour or significant contributions in the fields of science, culture or the manufacturing industry. It was established on December 27, 1938 by decree of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR. During its existence, its statute was amended three times by further decrees, first on June 19, 1943 to amend its description and ribbon, then on December 16, 1947 to amend its regulations, and finally on July 18, 1980 to confirm all previous amendments.
