Lyra (singer)
Laura McNamara, known professionally as Lyra, is an Irish singer, songwriter and multi-instrumentalist. Early life and musical development Lyra grew up in County Cork, Ireland. In an interview with the ''Irish Independent'', she told of her early love of singing and performing. She has also said that her experiences singing in her church choir, and in speech and drama lessons were formational in the development of her singing. She has highlighted her love of Irish "luminaries" Enya and Sinéad O'Connor, artists whom critics, among others such as Kate Bush and Florence and the Machine, have subsequently likened her music to. Although she wishes to maintain a degree of mystery, she has confirmed that 'Lyra' is one of her given names. Bandon, County Cork
Bandon (; ) is a town in County Cork, Ireland. It lies on the River Bandon between two hills. The name in Irish means 'Bridge of the Bandon', a reference to the origin of the town as a crossing point on the river. In 2004 Bandon celebrated its quatercentenary. The town, sometimes called the Gateway to West Cork, had a population of 6,957 at the 2016 census. Bandon is in the Cork South-West ( Dáil Éireann) constituency, which has three seats. Kodaline () are an Irish rock band. Originally known as 21 Demands, the band adopted their current name in 2012 to coincide with the changing of their music. The group comprises Steve Garrigan, Mark Prendergast, Vincent May and Jason Boland. Garrigan and Prendergast grew up in Swords, Dublin, and have known each other since childhood. May and Garrigan attended Colaiste Choilm CBS, Swords, where they participated in battles of the bands. Boland joined the group in 2012. Aston Iain Merrygold (born 13 February 1988) is an English singer, dancer, television personality and actor. He is known for being a member of the British boy band JLS, who were the runners-up to Alexandra Burke in the fifth series of ''The X Factor''. After five years, JLS split on 22 December 2013. ''Ireland's Got Talent'' is the Irish version of the international ''Got Talent'' franchise. The series launched on 3 February 2018 on Virgin Media One (formerly known as "TV3") and was hosted by Lucy Kennedy, accompanied by a sister show entitled ''Ireland's Got Mór Talent'' presented by Glenda Gilson and James Kavanagh.
