Lynton John Stott (born 9 May 1971) is an English former professional rugby league footballer who played in the 1990s and 2000s. He played at club level for both the Sheffield Eagles, original, and the present incarnation of the Sheffield Eagles. He also played for the Wakefield Trinity, Wakefield Trinity Wildcats, Doncaster R.L.F.C., Doncaster, Workington Town and Hull Kingston Rovers. He played as a or . Newton-le-Willows
Newton-le-Willows is a market town in the Metropolitan Borough of St Helens, Merseyside, England. The population at the 2011 census was 22,114. Newton-le-Willows is on the eastern edge of St Helens, south of Wigan and north of Warrington. The Newton township was historically largely pastoral lands, with the mining industry encroaching from the north and the west as time went on. The township (often referred to as Newton in Makersfield at that time) is documented since at least the 12th century. In the early 19th century the township saw significant urban development to support the construction of the Liverpool and Manchester Railway. The presence of the Sankey Canal running through the Sankey Valley necessitated the construction of the Sankey Viaduct by George Stephenson, and the town of Earlestown developed around the industrial works there. Super League III
JJB Sports Super League III was the official name for the year 1998's Super League championship season, the 104th season of top-level professional rugby league football in Britain, and the third season played in summer. The League format changed in 1998 and the championship became a playoff series to determine the Super League champions, similar to the way the Premiership was played for the previous 23 seasons. This meant the first Final to determine the British champions since the 1972–73 season. The team which finished on the top of the table were, from this season, awarded the League Leaders' Shield, with the inaugural honours going to Wigan. Huddersfield Giants, the league's bottom club was saved from relegation in 1998 due to the expansion of the league to fourteen teams in Super League IV. Sheffield Eagles (1984) Players
The Sheffield Eagles are a professional rugby league club that play in the Betfred Championship. The club play their home games at the Olympic Legacy Park (OLP) on the former site of Don Valley Stadium, their former ground. The original club was formed in 1984 and formerly competed in the Super League. The new, current club was formed in 2000 following a merger of the old club with Huddersfield Giants.
