Lynne McCarthy is a South African celebrity, actress, model, author, philanthropist, humanitarian, counsellor, chef, and a television presenter. She is best known for her roles in the popular serials '' Egoli: Place of Gold'' and ''Isidingo''. Personal life She was born on 29 November 1984 in South Africa. She is best known for her starring roles in EGOLI & Isidingo TV soaps. She graduated a D.Phil., doctorate in philosophy & human behavioural psychology from UCLA. Apart from psychology, she has also studied Public Relations and Marketing, Business Management. Career After the graduation, she studied acting under Libbe Ferreira and the late Blaise Koch at Sesani Studios in Johannesburg. Then she studied voice coaching and acting with Johan van der Merwe at Katinka Heyns’ Sonneblom Studios in Honeydew. After the course, she trained under W. Isidingo
''Isidingo'' is a South African soap opera, with dialogue mostly in English and isiXhosa. The series premiered on SABC 3 in July 1998 and was broadcast evenings on SABC 3 from Monday to Friday at 19:00. Until 2001 it was titled ''Isidingo: The Need''. Created by Gray Hofmeyr, the story is loosely based on another popular soap opera created by Hofmeyr, ''The Villagers'', that was broadcast during the apartheid era in South Africa. Former series Head Writers include Neil McCarthy, Mitzi Booysen, Ilse van Hermert, Christian Blomkamp, Busisiwe Ntintili, Loyiso Maqoma, Liam J Stratton, Rosalind Butler, Rohan Dickson, Bongi Ndaba, and Duduzile Zamantungwa Mabaso.
