Lynn Dalby
Lynn Dalby (born 17 February 1947) is an English actress. Dalby was born in Harrogate, West Riding of Yorkshire, England. Career She trained at the Corona Theatre School with future ''Emmerdale'' co-star Frazer Hines. Her first TV appearance in 1964 was in '' Crossroads'' as a secretary called Rita Hughes. In 1969 she took part in the TV comedy series, again playing under the name Rita, called ''The Gnomes of Dulwich'' alongside actors Hugh Lloyd and Terry Scott. In 1971 she became popular as Budgie's (played by actor Adam Faith) girlfriend Hazel Fletcher in the weekly TV series '' Budgie'', where she became one of the regular characters. Between 1971 and 1972, 26 episodes of the series were made. She played Ruth Merrick Sugden in the soap opera ''Emmerdale Farm'' in 1972. She acted in the 1975 horror film ''Legend of the Werewolf'' where she played the part of Christine. Harrogate ( ) is a spa town and the administrative centre of the Borough of Harrogate in North Yorkshire, England. ''Budgie'' is a British television series starring popstar Adam Faith which was produced by ITV company London Weekend Television and broadcast on the ITV network between 1971 and 1972. The series was created by Keith Waterhouse and Willis Hall. The show was produced by Verity Lambert with Rex Firkin as Executive Producer. In an interview for the 2006 DVD release, Lambert stated that the series was originally going to be called ''The Loser'' but this was rejected by the TV Network. Francis Durbridge
Francis Henry Durbridge (; 25 November 1912 – 11 April 1998) was an English dramatist and author, best known for the creation of the character Paul Temple, the gentlemanly detective who appeared in 16 BBC multi-part radio serials from 1938 onward. Biography Durbridge was born in Hull, East Riding of Yorkshire, and educated at Bradford Grammar School, where he was encouraged to write by his English teacher. He continued to do so while studying English at the University of Birmingham. After graduating in 1933, he worked for a short time as a stockbroker's clerk before selling a radio play, ''Promotion'', to the BBC at the age of 21. Durbridge created the character of Paul Temple, a crime novelist and detective, in the 1930s.
