Lynn Ahrens
Lynn Ahrens (born October 1, 1948) is an American writer and lyricist for the musical theatre, television and film. She has collaborated with Stephen Flaherty for many years. She won the Tony Award, Drama Desk Award, and Outer Critics Circle Award for the Broadway musical ''Ragtime''. Together with Flaherty, she has written many musicals, including ''Lucky Stiff'', ''My Favorite Year'', ''Ragtime'', ''Seussical'', '' A Man of No Importance'', '' Dessa Rose'', ''The Glorious Ones'', ''Rocky'', '' Little Dancer'' and, recently on Broadway, ''Anastasia'' and ''Once on This Island''. She was also nominated for two Academy Awards and two Golden Globe Awards for the animated Twentieth Century Fox film ''Anastasia''. She wrote the teleplay of her 1994 musical adaption of ''A Christmas Carol'', with music by Alan Menken and lyrics by Ahrens. ''Anastasia'' is a musical play with music and lyrics by Lynn Ahrens and Stephen Flaherty, and a book by Terrence McNally. Based on the 1997 animated film of the same name, the musical adapts the legend of Grand Duchess Anastasia Nikolaevna of Russia, who could have escaped the execution of her family. Years later, an amnesiac orphan named Anya hopes to find some trace of her family by siding with two con men who wish to take advantage of her likeness to the Grand Duchess. After completing a pre-Broadway run in Hartford, Connecticut, the show premiered on Broadway at the Broadhurst Theatre in April 2017, and since then it has spawned multiple productions worldwide. Neptune Township is a township in Monmouth County, in the U.S. state of New Jersey. As of the 2020 U.S. census, the township's population was 28,061, an increase of 126 from the 2010 census enumeration of 27,935, in turn an increase of 245 (+0.9%) from the 27,690 counted in the 2000 census. ''Schoolhouse Rock!'' is an American interstitial programming series of animated musical educational short films (and later, videos) that aired during the Saturday morning children's programming block on the U.S. television network ABC.
