Lynk (band)
Lynk, previously known as At Sunset were an Australian pop rock band currently consisting of brothers Harrison, Andrew and Matthew Kantarias. Past members include Jae Curtis and 2008 Australian Idol competitor Tom Jay Williams. The band currently reside in Adelaide, South Australia. They are best known as winners of the Nova FM Fresh Discovery and MTV (Australia and New Zealand) Brand New competitions. Music career Formation and early years At Sunset formed in January 2012 in Adelaide, when university friends Harrison Kantarias and Jae Curtis got together and started playing covers at their local pubs. During a rehearsal session, Harrison's brother Andrew joined in which led to the curation of At Sunset. The band began by performing covers and posting them to YouTube, which received significant social media attention, particularly for their cover of One Direction's ''One Thing''. Lynk & Co () is a Chinese-Swedish automobile brand owned by Geely Automobile Holdings. Founded in Gothenburg, Sweden in 2016, the focus of the brand is on internet connectivity and innovative purchasing models, and targets a young professional demographic. Models Lynk & Co has announced three models intended for production, all based on the Compact Modular Architecture (CMA) platform developed by CEVT and used also by Volvo. The first product announced by Lynk & Co was the crossover 01, the production version first shown at the 2017 Auto Shanghai show. Production of the 01 began first in China in 2017. Lynk Global is a company developing a satellite-to-mobile-phone satellite constellation that aims to provide a "cell tower in space" capability for global mobile phone service coverage, including in underserved rural areas without cellular coverage. Lynk has requested a license from the US Federal Communications Commission to launch up to ten test satellites as early as 2022, with the goal to begin continuous global coverage in 2025 using a constellation of several thousand satellites. History Lynk Global Inc. was founded in 2017 by Charles Miller, Margo Deckard, and Tyghe Speidel. The business plan for Lynk came out of a multi-year effort to look for the killer app for small satellites, specifically satellites as small as cubesat-class nanosatellites, which led to the concept of connecting a satellite directly to a mobile phone.
