Lynda Schlegel-Culver
Lynda Joy Schlegel Culver (born May 28, 1969) is an American politician from the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. A member of the Republican Party, she is a member of the Pennsylvania House of Representatives from the 108th district. Early life and education Culver was born on May 28, 1969 in Sunbury, Pennsylvania. She graduated from Shikellamy High School in 1987, and earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in political science from Bloomsburg University of Pennsylvania in 1991. Political career Culver first ran for Pennsylvania State Representative from the 108th district in 2010 and won. She was later reelected to six more consecutive terms. In 2022, Culver announced her candidacy in the 2023 Pennsylvania Senate 27th District special election to fill the seat vacated by State Senator John Gordner. John Gordner
John R. Gordner (born January 5, 1962) is an American lawyer and politician. A Republican, he represented the 27th District in the Pennsylvania State Senate (2003–2022) and the 109th District in the Pennsylvania House of Representatives (1993–2003). He is a former Democrat, having switched parties in 2001. Early life Gordner earned a Juris Doctor from the Dickinson School of Law and has served as a practicing attorney. Career Gordner was elected to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives in 1992 and served 11 years in that body. In 2001, Gordner changed political parties from Democrat to Republican. Shikellamy High School is a public high school located in Sunbury, Pennsylvania, United States. The building was built in 1929. It is part of the Shikellamy School District. It is the sole public high school for the communities of Northumberland, Point Township, Rockefeller Township, Snydertown Borough, the City of Sunbury, and Upper Augusta Township. It was a combined middle/high school between 2011 and 2016, but there is now Shikellamy Middle School for grades 6 through 8 in Northumberland.
