Lyla Berg (born March 15, 1951) is a Hawaiian Hawaii Democratic Party, Democratic politician. She was first elected to the Hawaii House of Representatives in 2004 representing the Kāhala, Hawaii, Kāhala area of Honolulu on Oahu. Berg was a Democratic candidate for Lieutenant Governor of Hawaii in the Hawaii lieutenant governor election, 2010, 2010 election. She was attacked for having sponsored a resolution to designate an Islam Day (Hawaii), Islam Day in 2009; critics claimed that according to the Julian Calendar, the holiday celebrated the September 11 attacks. Lyla Elliott
Lyla Daphne Elliott (2 July 1934 – 18 February 2017) was an Australian politician who was a Labor member of the Legislative Council of Western Australia between 1971 and 1986, representing North-East Metropolitan Province. Born in Geraldton to Alvie Jean (née Fullwood) and Albert James Elliott, Elliott attended state schools in Reedy and Waroona, two small country towns where her father was employed as a machinist. She became a member of the Labor Party in 1955, and was secretary to Joe Chamberlain, the general secretary of the party's WA branch, for almost 20 years. She also undertook work for the party's National Executive and at national conferences, and was also briefly employed by the UK Labour Party. ''The Black Cab Sessions'' is a series of one-song performances by musicians and poets recorded in the back of a black cab and filmed for an internet audience. A black cab is a type of hackney carriage (taxicab, An Austin FX4 or a Metrocab) common in Britain.
