Lygodactylus Fischeri
Fischer's dwarf gecko (''Lygodactylus fischeri'') is a species of lizard in the family Gekkonidae. The species is native to West Africa and Central Africa. Etymology The specific name, ''fischeri'', is in honor of German herpetologist Johann Gustav Fischer. Geographic range ''L. fischeri'' is found in Gabon, Equatorial Guinea, Cameroon, and southeast Nigeria, with a single, isolated record from Benin. The record from Sierra Leone is questionable. Ecology ''L. fischeri'' is a rare and highly cryptic species occurring in closed humid forest and gallery forest. It is probably an insectivore feeding on ants. George Albert Boulenger (19 October 1858 – 23 November 1937) was a Belgian-British zoologist who described and gave scientific names to over 2,000 new animal species, chiefly fish, reptiles, and amphibians. Boulenger was also an active botanist during the last 30 years of his life, especially in the study of roses. Life Boulenger was born in Brussels, Belgium, the only son of Gustave Boulenger, a Belgian public notary, and Juliette Piérart, from Valenciennes. He graduated in 1876 from the Free University of Brussels with a degree in natural sciences, and worked for a while at the Royal Belgian Institute of Natural Sciences, Brussels, as an assistant naturalist studying amphibians, reptiles, and fishes. Herbert Rösler (15 June 1924 – 11 November 2006) was a German artist, writer and designer. He worked as a painter, graphic designer, sculptor, developed models for futuristic architecture, designed clothes, furniture and handcrafted jewelry. Arthur Loveridge (28 May 1891 – 16 February 1980) was a British biologist and herpetologist who wrote about animals in East Africa, particularly Tanzania, and New Guinea. He gave scientific names to several gecko species in the region. Arthur Loveridge was born in Penarth, and was interested in natural history from childhood. He gained experience with the National Museum of Wales and Manchester Museum before becoming the curator of the Nairobi Museum (now the National Museum of Kenya) in 1914.
