Lydia Foote
Lydia Foote, born Lydia Alice Legg (1843 – 30 May 1892), was an English actress. She played leading roles from the 1850s to the 1880s, including at the Lyceum Theatre, the Olympic Theatre, the Prince of Wales's Theatre and the Adelphi Theatre. She was known for her performances in such plays as ''The Frozen Deep'' (1866) and ''Caste'' (1867). Life Foote was born in London to Arthur Wellington Legg, a coachbuilder, and Sarah Judith Legg (''née'' Goward). Lydia ( Lydian: 𐤮𐤱𐤠𐤭𐤣𐤠, ''Śfarda''; Aramaic: ''Lydia''; el, Λυδία, ''Lȳdíā''; tr, Lidya) was an Iron Age kingdom of western Asia Minor located generally east of ancient Ionia in the modern western Turkish provinces of Uşak, Manisa and inland Izmir. The ethnic group inhabiting this kingdom are known as the Lydians, and their language, known as Lydian, was a member of the Anatolian branch of the Indo-European language family.
