Lučenec District
Lučenec District (''okres Lučenec'') is a district in the Banská Bystrica Region of south-central Slovakia. Until 1918, most of the district belong to the Novohrad county, with a small area around the villages of Šíd, Čamovce and Šurice in the east belonging to the Gemer a Malohont county. The district is situated in the Southern Slovak Basin, in the broad valley of the Ipeľ River. The two towns—Lučenec and Fiľakovo—comprise nearly 54% of the population of the district, the remainder living in the 55 surrounding villages. The district lies on the E571 route (Route 50 in Slovak numbering) from Bratislava to Košice, and on one of the train lines connecting the two cities. Train services also run to Budapest via Fiľakovo. Districts Of Slovakia
An okres (in English district) is an administrative unit in Slovakia. It is a second-tier territorial administrative unit, below a Regions of Slovakia, Region in standing, and superior to a municipality. Each district contains at least several municipalities. The cities of Bratislava and Košice are the only cities in Slovakia divided into internal urban districts, with five in Bratislava, and four in Košice. These urban districts are then further divided into smaller boroughs (which serve a function analogous to municipalities in typical districts). All other districts are larger in size and also include rural areas, and rural as well as urban municipalities. Each of these more typical districts has an urban centre serving as the seat of the district, usually the largest town (or the only town) of a given district. Divín
Divín (german: Diwein; hu, Divény) is a village and municipality in the Lučenec District in the Banská Bystrica Region of Slovakia. History In historical records, the village was first mentioned in 1329 as a parish and a castle (1329 ''castrum Dyun' villa sub eodem castro'', 1393 ''Dyen'', ''Dyuen'', 1497 ''Dywyn'', 1473 ''Dewen''). Many noble families ruled the village and lived in the castle: Tomay, Lossonczy, Balassa, Zichy. In 1575 the fortress was occupied by Turks up to 1593. In 1604, it passed to nobles Bocskay, and after to Balassa family again. In 1674, the castle was destroyed by General Strassoldo. Čakanovce, Lučenec District
Čakanovce (before 1927 ''Čakanová''; hu, Csákányháza) is a village and municipality in the Lučenec District in the Banská Bystrica Region of Slovakia. History The village arose in the 13th or 14th century. It was first mentioned in 1439 (''Chakanhaza''). It changed many owners during the history. From 1554 to 1594 it was occupied by the Turks. It suffered war devastations very much in the 17th century. From 1938 to 1944 it belonged to Hungary under the First Vienna Award. Bulhary, Lučenec District
Bulhary ( hu, Bolgárom) is a village and municipality in the Lučenec District in the Banská Bystrica Region of Slovakia. History In historical records, the village was first mentioned in 1435 (''Bolgarom''), it is however much older. In the early 16th century it belonged to Filakovo town and afterwards to the landowners Bebek, Serény, Balassa, and Vécsey. From 1554 to 1595 was occupied by Turks. Food processing is the transformation of agricultural products into food, or of one form of food into other forms. Boľkovce (before 1948: ; hu, Bolyk or ) is a village and municipality in the Lučenec District in the Banská Bystrica Region of Slovakia. History In historical records, the village was first mentioned in 1320 and 1435 as ''Bolk'' (1467 ''Bwlyk'', 1481 ''Bolyk'').
