Luís Manuel Ribeiro de Castro (born 3 September 1961) is a Portuguese football manager and former player who played as a right-back. He is the current head coach of Brazilian club Botafogo. Early life Castro was born in the village of , in Vila Real. He moved to Casal dos Claros and Vieira de Leiria in the Leiria District, due to his father's military profession. At age 11, he nearly died of purpura, which stopped him from playing football for three years. For two years, Castro was a student of Physics at the University of Coimbra. Playing career Castro spent most of his 17-year professional career in the lower leagues, representing U.D. Leiria, O Elvas CAD, AD Fafe and R.D. Luís Manuel Ferreira de Castro (born 7 May 1980) is a Portuguese football manager. Career Castro was born in Moreira de Cónegos, Braga District, and began his managerial career with the under-10 squad at Vizela. In 2005, he was invited by Moreirense to be their youth coordinator and manager of the under-19 squad. In 2009, after a year in charge of the under-14s of the Braga Football Association, Castro returned to Vizela. In 2011, he moved abroad and took over the under-15 team of Saudi club Al Nassr FC. Luis Miguel Castro (November 25, 1876 – September 24, 1941) was born in Medellín, Colombia. According to Major League Baseball, he was the first Latin American to enter the league as an infielder who played 42 games with the Philadelphia Athletics in the 1902 season. A second baseman and right-handed batter, Castro attended Manhattan College and played for the Jaspers baseball team. He played his one and only major league season with the 1902 American League champion Philadelphia Athletics. José Luis Castro Medellín M.S.F. (21 June 1938 – 24 January 2020) was a Mexican bishop of the Catholic Church who was bishop of Tacámbaro from 2002 to 2014.
