Luz Acosta
Luz Mercedes Acosta Tollefson (born December 22, 1980, in Guaymas, Sonora, Mexico) is a Mexican former weightlifter who competed for her native country at the Olympic level. She made her Olympic debut at the 2008 Summer Olympics, where she finished in 8th place. Later on she participated at the 2011 Pan American Games at Guadalajara, Mexico, where she won the bronze medal. In 2012, she qualified to participate at the 2012 Summer Olympics The 2012 Summer Olympics (officially the Games of the XXX Olympiad and also known as London 2012) was an international multi-sport event held from 27 July to 12 August 2012 in London, England, United Kingdom. Guaymas
Guaymas () is a city in Guaymas Municipality, in the southwest part of the state of Sonora, in northwestern Mexico. The city is south of the state capital of Hermosillo, and from the U.S. border. The municipality is located on the Gulf of California and the western edge of the Sonoran Desert and has a hot, dry climate and of beaches.
