Strassen ( lb, Stroossen ) is a commune and town in central Luxembourg. It is part of the canton of Luxembourg. In 2016, Strassen's population counted 8500 citizens. The ''Union Cycliste Internationale'' (UCI; ; en, International Cycling Union) is the world governing body for sports cycling and oversees international competitive cycling events. The UCI is based in Aigle, Switzerland. The UCI issues racing licenses to riders and enforces disciplinary rules, such as in matters of doping.
