Lutxana (Bilbao Metro)
Lutxana is a station of line 1 of Metro Bilbao, also served by the Lutxana-Sondika shuttle operated by Euskotren Trena. It is located in the neighbourhood of Lutxana-Enekuri, in the municipality of Erandio. In its current inception, the station was opened on 11 November 1995. Since 2015, the station has also been served by Euskotren Trena suburban trains. The Cercanías Bilbao commuter railway network (operated by Renfe) also has a Lutxana station on its C2/C3 line, but they are not at the same location or even in the same municipality – there is a relatively short distance of about between them as the crow flies, but they are situated on opposite banks of the Estuary of Bilbao (the 'other' Lutxana is part of Barakaldo). Erandio
Erandio is a town and municipality located in the province of Biscay, in the autonomous community of Basque Country, northern Spain. The name comes from euskera ARANDIO that means plum plantation or field. In 1415, during the War of the Bands, the ''corregidor'', the royally-appointed governor of the Biscayan ''hermandad'', acting on royal orders, siphoned off Biscayan wheat to the Asturias, inciting a rebellion. The Biscayans were defeated at Erandio with the loss of sixty men and the wheat transfers continued. Festivals Several annual festivals are celebrated in Erandio. Mungia
Mungia (in Spanish: ''Munguía'') is a town and municipality located in the province of Biscay, in the Basque Country of northern Spain. The town has 17,691 inhabitants (2019). Geography Mungia lies 20 metres above sea level in an area full of open spaces, with a landscape of rolling hills; among these last are Gondramendi (217 m), Tallu (342 m) and Berreaga (366 m). The more important mountains nearby are Sollube (684 m) and Jata (592 m); these surround the valley of the Butroi river, which rises at the mountain of Bizkargi (536 m) and flows to the sea at the Plentzia estuary. Ibarbengoa (Metro Bilbao)
Ibarbengoa is a station on line 1 of the Bilbao metro. It is located in the neighbourhood of Andra Mari, in the municipality of Getxo. The station was constructed to serve the northernmost part of Getxo and to become the northern terminus of services terminating in Getxo. The station currently serves as the northern terminus for select metro services. The station opened on 15 June 2020. History The construction of a new station in the northern, and mostly rural, neighborhood of Andra Mari in Getxo had been planned for some time, being first announced in 2010 as part of a new urban plan for the area. The plan included the construction of around 8,000 homes, a new metro station and a park and ride facility. The plan was met with strong opposition from the inhabitants of Andra Mari, who claimed the plan benefited residential speculation and the urbanization of an until then mostly rural area. Etxebarri (Bilbao Metro)
Etxebarri is a station on lines 1 and 2 of the Bilbao metro. It is the southern terminus of line 1. The station is located in the municipality of Etxebarri, part of the Bilbao metropolitan area. It was opened in 2005. The station is on Fuenlabrada street, next to a park and ride parking facility. The Euskotren Trena commuter railway network has a station with the same name at a distance of about , but the two stations are not connected. Services The station is served by the line 1 to Ibarbengoa and Plentzia, and also by line 2 from Basauri to Santurtzi. Connecting bus services are provided by EtxebarriBus, a local bus service managed by the Etxebarri municiaplity.
