Luther Franklin Roy (July 29, 1902 – July 24, 1963) was a pitcher in Major League Baseball. Roy was born in Ooltewah, Tennessee. He pitched from 1924 to 1929 with four different Major League teams. In baseball, the pitcher is the player who throws ("pitches") the baseball from the pitcher's mound toward the catcher to begin each play, with the goal of retiring a batter, who attempts to either make contact with the pitched ball or draw a walk.
