Luther Kountze
Luther Kountze (October 29, 1841 – April 17, 1918) was an American banker, responsible for helping the city of Denver, Colorado in a time of need and leaving a philanthropic legacy in Morristown, New Jersey. He founded a late-19th century national banking dynasty along with his brothers Charles, Herman and Augustus. From 1858 to 1862, Luther worked at the Kountze Brothers Bank in Omaha, Nebraska, which was operated by his brothers Augustus and Herman. Late in 1862, he went to Denver, Colorado, where he opened a bank under the name of Kountze Brothers and listed his brothers as senior members. Osnaburg Township is one of the seventeen townships of Stark County, Ohio, United States. The 2000 census found 5,886 people in the township, 4,257 of whom lived in the unincorporated portions of the township. Kountze Family
Kountze ( ) is a city in Hardin County, Texas, United States. The population was 1,981 at the 2020 census. It is the county seat of Hardin County. The city is part of the Beaumont– Port Arthur Metropolitan Statistical Area. Kountze was originally established as a railroad town in 1881. The city was named for Herman and Augustus Kountze, financial backers of the Sabine and East Texas Railroad. The seat of Hardin County, Kountze boasts an area of more than 89% forested lush green terrain. The local area produces over 3.5 million board feet (8,300 m³) of lumber annually. Jockey Hollow is the name for an area in southern Morris County, New Jersey farmed in the 18th century by the Wick, Guerin and Kemble families. The origin of the name is still uncertain, but was used as such at the time of the American Revolution. For most of the Revolutionary War, it was used by portions of Continental Army as a winter camp site, and it housed the main Continental Army during the "Hard Winter" of 1779-80, believed to be the harshest winter in recorded history. George Edward Harney
George Edward Harney (1840–1924) was a late 19th-century American architect based in New York City. Biography George Edward Harney was born in Lynn, Massachusetts in 1840. He received his early training in the office of local engineer Alonzo Lewis. In 1863, he relocated to Cold Spring, New York, with an office in Newburgh, just upriver. He moved to New York City in 1873 and partnered with William I. Paulding, their firm Harney & Paulding, only lasting for that year. Soon after Harney took his draftsman William S. Purdy as a partner in the firm Harney & Purdy. They remained associated until at least 1910. Harney died in New York City on November 12, 1924.
