Gord Downie
Gordon Edgar Downie (February 6, 1964 – October 17, 2017) was a Canadian rock singer-songwriter, musician, writer and activist. He was the singer and lyricist for the Canadian rock band The Tragically Hip, which he fronted from its formation in 1984 until his death in 2017. He is widely regarded as one of the most influential and popular artists in Canadian music history. Camille Henderson is a Canadian pop singer. She played the role of Shirley in Sandy Wilson's 1985 Canadian film ''My American Cousin''. She went on to become part of the Vancouver-based pop group West End Girls from 1991 to 1993. Thomas William Keenlyside (born 1950) is a Canadian saxophonist and flautist from Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. Biography Born and raised in Vancouver, Keenlyside grew up hearing many genres of music on the radio that his parents left turned on much of the time. When he was twelve years old, he started playing trumpet. A year later while he was walking to school, he stopped by a friend's house and heard "Strange Meadowlark" by the Dave Brubeck Quartet coming from the house. He was overwhelmed when he heard Paul Desmond's solo, and he resolved to pursue a career in music. A couple years later he became interested in the flute and took lessons. Robert Jens Rock (born April 19, 1954) is a Canadian record producer, sound engineer and musician, best known for producing rock bands and music artists such as Metallica, Mötley Crüe, Bon Jovi, Aerosmith, The Tragically Hip, the Cult, 311, Our Lady Peace, Bryan Adams, the Offspring, Michael Bublé, Black Veil Brides, David Lee Roth, and Ron Sexsmith. ''We Are the Same'' is the eleventh studio album by Canadian rock band The Tragically Hip, released April 7, 2009 on Universal Music Canada, and by Zoë Records in the United States. The album was recorded at The Bathouse Recording Studio in Bath, Ontario with producer Bob Rock. The opening track, "Morning Moon", was released on the band's website in advance of the album's release. The first single, "Love Is a First", was released February 27, 2009 and peaked at #22 on the Canadian Hot 100.
