André Lurton
André Lurton (4 October 1924 – 16 May 2019) was a French winemaker and winery owner. It is also the name of his eponymous winemaking group in Bordeaux which was mostly owned by him and after his death only by his children. Lurton originates from the village of Grézillac in the Gironde department. From the late 1940s, he took an active role in many farming and winemaking organisations, including efforts to relaunch the Syndicat Viticole de l' Entre-Deux-Mers from 1953, and the vice presidency of Syndicat Viticole des Bordeaux et Bordeaux Supérieur from 1965 to 1996. From 1966 to 1986 he was director of Le Conseil Interprofessionnel du Vin de Bordeaux (CIVB). As president of Syndicat Viticole des Hautes Graves et Bordeaux from 1974 to 1980, of Syndicat Viticole de Pessac et Léognan from 1980 to 1987, and of Syndicat Viticole de Pessac-Léognan from 1987, he was instrumental in creating Pessac-Léognan as a separate appellation to cover the high-end subregion of Graves.

Horace Harmon Lurton
Horace Harmon Lurton (February 26, 1844 – July 12, 1914) was an Associate Justice of the Supreme Court of the United States and previously was a United States circuit judge of the United States Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit and of the United States Circuit Courts for the Sixth Circuit. Early life Lurton was born on February 26, 1844, in Newport, Kentucky. He attended the Old University of Chicago, then received a Bachelor of Laws in 1867 from Cumberland School of Law (then part of Cumberland University, now part of Samford University). He served in the Confederate States Army as a Sergeant Major with the 5th Tennessee Infantry, 2nd Kentucky Infantry and 3rd Kentucky Cavalry from 1861 to 1865. He was twice captured by Union forces, the second time sent as a prisoner of war to Johnson's Island Prison Camp in Sandusky Bay, Ohio. Château Couhins-Lurton is a Bordeaux wine from the Pessac-Léognan appellation, ranked among the ''Crus Classés'' for dry white wine in the Classification of Graves wine of 1959. The winery is located in close vicinity of the city of Bordeaux, in the commune of Villenave-d'Ornon. In addition to the classed dry white ''Grand vin'', the estate also produces a red. Lurton Blassingame
Lurton Blassingame (February 10, 1904 – April 1988) was an American literary agent. He was born in Fort Smith, Arkansas and went to Columbia University where he studied writing. His Master's thesis was based on the history of pulp fiction. His first job was as a writer in Hollywood. From that job he moved on to found the American Library Foundation with William Allen in 1937. He was the literary agent for Frank Herbert, Robert A. Heinlein, John Barth, William F. Nolan, and Rosemary Taylor. His public relations firm named Houston Branch Associates was sold to Eleanor Wood's Spectrum Literary Agency in 1978. In 1951, author Robert A.
