LungA Art Festival
LungA Art Festival is an annual art and music festival held in Seyðisfjörður, East Iceland in mid-July. The festival was founded in 2000 and is organized as a week of workshops, lectures and other activities, ending with a weekend of exhibitions and concerts. In 2013 the festival sparked the creation of the LungA School, an art school and "independent, artist led institution". Seyðisfjörður
Seyðisfjörður () is a town in the Eastern Region of Iceland at the innermost point of the fjord of the same name. The town is located in the municipality of Múlaþing. A road over Fjarðarheiði mountain pass (elevation ) connects Seyðisfjörður to the rest of Iceland; to the ring road and Egilsstaðir. Seyðisfjörður is surrounded by mountains with the most prominent Mt. Bjólfur to the west (1085 m) and Strandartindur (1010 m) to the east. The fjord itself is accessible on each side from the town, by following the main road that leads through the town. LungA School
LungA School is an artist-run residential art school based in Seyðisfjörður, East Iceland that offers programs in Art and Land. History Inspired by anarchist pedagogies, the school grew out of the LungA Art Festival, and was founded by Danish artist Jonatan Spejlborg Juelsbo and Icelandic artist and musician Björt Sigfinnsdóttir, the festival's co-founder and director. Like the festival before it, the school's name is a portmanteau of the Icelandic words 'lista' (art), 'ungur' (young) and 'Austurlandi' (East). The school was formalized in 2013 with the first program launching in 2014, and is one of only two folk high schools in Iceland, joined by Lýðháskólinn á Flateyri in 2017. Saga Sigurðardóttir (dancer And Choreographer)
is a series of science fantasy role-playing video games by Square Enix. The series originated on the Game Boy in 1989 as the creation of Akitoshi Kawazu at Square. Svala Björgvins (musician)
Svala Björgvinsdóttir (born 8 February 1977), professionally known as Svala, Svala Björgvins or Kali, is an Icelandic singer and songwriter. She rose to major fame with her 2001 song, "The Real Me", from her album of the same name. The singer briefly adopted the stage name "Kali" after joining the house band Steed Lord. Sóley (musician, Composer And Performer)
Sóley Stefánsdóttir (born 20 October 1987), better known simply as Sóley, is an Icelandic multi-instrumentalist, singer, and songwriter. Career Sóley studied classical and jazz style piano as a child and later went to the Icelandic Art Academy to study composition to become a proficient pianist and guitarist. Although hailing from Iceland, she sings primarily in English both in her solo and group work. She became part of the seven-piece Icelandic indie-folk band, Seabear, in 2006. Signed to the record label, Morr Music, the band have so far released two albums and an EP, on which Sóley predominantly provides piano and backing vocals. Destiny Nicole Frasqueri (born June 14, 1992), known professionally as Princess Nokia, is an American rapper and songwriter. Henrik Vibskov (born 1972) is a Danish fashion designer, artist, curator and musician. Commonly associated with the fashion brand carrying the same name, his work is known for its enticing universes and crossover into other art forms. Andri Snær Magnason (born 14 July 1973) is an Icelandic writer. He has written novels, poetry, plays, short stories, and essays. Andri is also a director and producer of three documentary films that have premiered in IDFA and CPH:DOX. His work has been published or performed in more than 40 countries. He has received the Icelandic Literary Prize in all categories, fiction, non-fiction and for children's literature. The first time in 1999 for the children's book ''The Story of the Blue Planet'', and again in 2006 for the non-fiction book '' Dreamland'', a critique of Icelandic industrial and energy policy.
