Kampong Lumut () or commonly known as Lumut, is a coastal settlement in Belait District, Brunei, about from the district town Kuala Belait. The total population was in 2016. History Archaeological evidence found in Lumut suggests that human activity had existed in the area as early as the fourteenth century; Chinese and Siamese potteries dateable to the time corresponding to the Ming Dynasty (1368-1644) had been unearthed in the vicinity of the Lumut River. However, the characteristics of the evidence suggests that the site was for burial rather than residential purpose. Lumut Lighthouse
The Lumut Lighthouse (), is an active lighthouse at Kampong Sungai Kayu Ara under the administration of Kampung Lumut II, Mukim Liang, Belait District of Brunei. History The lighthouse was inaugurated in March 2005. Sultan Hassanal Bolkiah paid a visit in 2006. On 2 March 2020, the Ministry of Transport and Infocommunications, Member of the National Assembly (MMN) discussed about future plans which included being suggested to be opened as a tourist attraction. The topic was brought into spotlight due to MPABD's budget limitation. In commemoration of the International Maritime Organization (IMO) in November 2021, the lighthouse was among the five buildings that was lit up by the MPABD. Kampong Sungai Liang
Kampong Sungai Liang is a village in Belait District, Brunei, about from the district's principal town Kuala Belait and from the oil town Seria. The population was 910 in 2016. It is one of the villages within Mukim Liang. The postcode is KC1135. Geography The village is one of the settlements along the country's coast with the South China Sea. The neighbouring primary settlements include Kampong Telisai in Tutong District to the north-east and Lumut to the south-west. The Sungai Liang beach is located on the coast of the village. Mukim Labi is a mukim in the interior of Belait District, Brunei. It has an area of ; the population was 1,216 in 2016. Geography The mukim is located in the central and south-western part of the district, bordering Mukim Liang to the north, Mukim Bukit Sawat to the north-east, Mukim Sukang to the east, the Malaysian state of Sarawak to the south and west and Mukim Kuala Balai and Mukim Seria to the north-west. Seria
Seria () is a town in Belait District, Brunei, about west from the country's capital Bandar Seri Begawan. The total population was 3,625 in 2016. It was where oil was first struck in Brunei in 1929 and has since become a centre for the country's oil and gas industry. Name The name Seria is an acronym for the South East Reserved Industrial Area. In the past, Seria used to be known as , the local name which translates as 'Wild Pigeon's Field', and referred to the area between the Bera and Seria rivers.
