Lumineers
The Lumineers are an American alternative folk band based in Denver, Colorado. The founding members are Wesley Schultz (lead vocals, guitar) and Jeremiah Fraites (drums, percussion, piano). Schultz and Fraites began writing and performing together in Ramsey, New Jersey, in 2005. Cellist and vocalist Neyla Pekarek joined the band in 2010, and was a member until 2018. The Lumineers emerged as one of the most popular folk-rock/Americana artists during the revival of those genres, their popularity growing in the 2010s. The band's stripped back raw sound draws heavily from artists that influenced Schultz and Fraites such as Bruce Springsteen, Bob Dylan and Tom Petty. They are known for their energetic live shows and several international hit singles, including "Ho Hey", " Stubborn Love", "Ophelia", " Angela" and "Cleopatra". ''The Lumineers'' is the debut studio album by American folk rock band the Lumineers. The album was released in the United States on April 3, 2012, and contains the singles "Ho Hey", " Stubborn Love" and "Submarines". The album peaked at number 2 on the ''Billboard'' 200 chart. The vinyl LP version of the record was pressed by United Record Pressing in Nashville, Tennessee. Reception Commercial ''The Lumineers'' debuted on the US ''Billboard'' 200 at number 45 on its week of release with sales of 10,000. The success of the song "Ho Hey" however began to drive sales of the album, and it eventually reached a peak of number 2 on the ''Billboard'' 200. Jeremiah Fraites
Jeremiah Caleb Fraites (born January 17, 1986) is an American musician, composer, songwriter, and multi-instrumentalist. He is the co-founder of The Lumineers and is a songwriter for the band. He was born and raised in Ramsey, New Jersey. Early life Jeremiah Fraites' family is from Ramsey, New Jersey; his mother is the director of the Redeemer Christian Nursery School in Ramsey. Fraites graduated from Ramsey High School in 2004, and William Paterson University in 2009. He became an Italian citizen in December 2021. The Lumineers Beginnings Fraites' brother Josh (1982-2001) was a friend of Wesley Schultz; after Josh's death, Jeremiah Fraites and Schultz began playing music together as a way to cope with their shared loss. Stelth Ulvang is an American musician, singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist, best known as a touring member of the folk rock band The Lumineers. He is also the co-founder of the Front Range-based band The Dovekins. In February 2015, Ulvang released his debut album, ''And, as Always; the Infinite Cosmos''.
