Lumding railway division is one of the five railway divisions under Northeast Frontier Railway zone of Indian Railways. This railway division was formed on 1 May 1969 and its headquarter is located at Lumding in the state of Assam of India. Northeast Frontier Railway Zone
The Northeast Frontier Railway (abbreviated NFR) is one of the Zones and divisions of Indian Railways, 19 railway zones of the Indian Railways. It is headquartered in Maligaon, Guwahati in the state of Assam, and responsible for operation and expansion of rail network all across Northeast India, Northeastern states and some districts of eastern Bihar and northern West Bengal. Railway Board
The Ministry of Railways is a ministry in the Government of India, responsible for the country's rail transport. Divisions Of Indian Railways
Indian Railways divides its operations into zones, which are further sub-divided into divisions, each having a divisional headquarters. There are a total of 19 zones (including Metro Railway, Kolkata) and 70 Divisions on Indian Railway System. Each of the divisions is headed by a Divisional Railway Manager (DRM), who reports to the General Manager (GM) of the zone. A DRM can be appointed from any of the eight organized services of Indian Railways, viz. Badarpur Junction Railway Station

Zonal Rail Training Institute (ZRTI) is established in district Ghazipur, Uttar Pradesh. Maligaon
The headquarters of Northeast Frontier Railway and Northeast Frontier Railway Stadium is situated here. The place is also known for goddess Durga pandals.
