Lukáš Pollert
Lukáš Pollert () (born 24 March 1970 in Prague) is a Czech slalom canoeist who competed from the late 1980s to the early 2000s. Competing in two Summer Olympics, he won two medals in the C1 event with a gold in 1992 and a silver in 1996. Pollert also won a silver medal in the C1 event at the 1997 ICF Canoe Slalom World Championships in Três Coroas and the overall World Cup title in the C1 category in 1993. At the European Championships he won a total of four medals (2 silvers and 2 bronzes). He took part in the Velvet Revolution in 1989 in Czechoslovakia which Pollert later considered more important to him than the gold medal he won at Barcelona three years later. Being a Doctor of Medicine, Pollert retired in 2000 and is nowadays active in his career of a GP in ER of Prague's Military Hospital. Whitewater Slalom
Canoe slalom (previously known as whitewater slalom) is a competitive sport with the aim to navigate a decked canoe or kayak through a course of hanging downstream or upstream gates on river rapids in the fastest time possible. It is one of the two kayak and canoeing disciplines at the Summer Olympics, and is referred to by the International Olympic Committee (IOC) as Canoe/Kayak Slalom. Canoe Slalom World Cup
The ICF Canoe Slalom World Cup is an annual series of races in canoe slalom held under the auspices of the International Canoe Federation. It has been held since 1988 in four canoe and kayak disciplines for men and women. The four original disciplines were men's single canoe (C1), men's double canoe (C2), men's kayak (K1) and women's kayak. A women's single canoe discipline (C1) has been added to the world cup in 2010. The men's C2 event was removed from the world cup series in 2018 and it was replaced by the mixed C2 event. 2018 was also the first time that world cup points were awarded for the extreme K1 event. The Minden Wild Water Preserve is a current natural canoeing and kayaking slalom facility in Minden, Ontario, Canada, and was used for the 2015 Pan American Games canoe slalom events. Klára Pollertová (born 17 September 1971 in Prague) is a Czechs, Czech actress. Biography She comes from a sporting and artistic family; her brother Lukáš Pollert is an Olympic champion from the 1992 Summer Olympics, 1992 Summer Olympic Games in Barcelona. She made her film debut as a child in 1979 in the eponymous film adaptation of Karel Čapek, Čapek's ''Hordubal''. In 1983, she appeared in the television series ''Návštěvníci (TV series), Visitors''.
