Luke Thurgate is an Australian painter and mural artist. Early life and education Luke Thurgate graduated with Bachelor of Fine Arts from University of Newcastle, Australia in 2007, and went on to do a Masters of Fine Arts at the National Art School, where he also teaches drawing. Career Thurgate's extensive exhibition history in Australia and New Zealand including exhibitions at Burra Regional Art Gallery, Bergman Gallery, Backwoods Gallery, National Art School, Adelaide Central Gallery, M.Contemporary, Mop Project Space, John Miller Gallery, Watt Space Gallery and John Paynter Gallery. National Art School
The National Art School (NAS) is a tertiary level art school, located in , an inner-city suburb of Sydney, New South Wales, Australia. The school is an independent accredited higher education provider offering specialised study in studio arts practice across various disciplines. With its origins in the formation of Sydney Mechanics’ School of Arts in 1843, NAS has been in operation on the historic Darlinghurst Gaol site in East Sydney in various forms since 1922 and was formerly part of East Sydney Technical College, known as East Sydney Tech. Maitland Regional Art Gallery
Maitland Regional Art Gallery or MRAG is a public art museum in Maitland, New South Wales, Australia. History Maitland City Council began purchasing works of art in 1957 which formed the basis of the collection as it is today. In 1975 Brough House, in Church Street Maitland became the first Maitland City Art Gallery site. MRAG opened at its current site on High Street Maitland in November 2003. The Federation gothic building once housed the Maitland Technical College opened in 1910. In 2008 the gallery closed for redevelopment and was reopened on the 15 August 2009 by the artist Margaret Olley. Viaduct Events Centre
The Viaduct Events Centre is a stand-alone, multi-purpose events centre built on the Halsey Street extension wharf, Wynyard Quarter of Auckland, New Zealand. It was owned and operated by Regional Facilities Auckland, an organisation under the control of Auckland Council. Opened in August 2011 at a cost of approximately $32 million, the facility offered eight separate rooms suitable for a wide range of events including conferences, gala dinners and exhibitions. Lucas Grogan (born 1984) is an Australian artist born in Cooma, New South Wales. Grogan is a painter and textile artist currently based in Melbourne, Australia. Grogan exhibited overseas and Australia since 2005. Art career Grogan grew up in Maitland, and consider Maitland his hometown. Grogan left Maitland and studied art at Newcastle University in 2003 to base himself in Melbourne. According to Grogan, he "failed spectacularly", but learned on the job about life as a practising artist via volunteer and paid jobs at artist-run and commercial galleries in Newcastle and Sydney as gallery attendant to exhibition installer and floor manager. Alex Seton
Alex Seton (born 1977) is an Australian artist, known for his contemporary use of marble carving. He also works in sculpture, photography, video and installation.
