Luke Smith is a fictional regular character played by Tommy Knight in the British children's science fiction television series ''The Sarah Jane Adventures'', a spin-off of the long-running series ''Doctor Who''. Luke is a regular character in ''The Sarah Jane Adventures'' both in television and audio adventures. He has also appeared in three episodes of ''Doctor Who'': the two-parter "The Stolen Earth"/"Journey's End" (2008), and the Tenth Doctor's finale episode " The End of Time, Part Two" (2010). Luke Michael Smith is an American writer. He is a staff member at the video game development company Bungie, and is a former video games journalist. Smith wrote for a college newspaper and weekly papers in Michigan before being hired as one of the first new freelance writers for Kotaku. At Kotaku, Smith developed his writing style but soon left the site for a staff position as 1Up.com's news editor. Smith made a name for himself at 1Up, particularly through an article he wrote focusing on problems with the game ''Halo 2''. Smith was known for his direct approach to game journalism and scathing criticism of the video game industry. During his time at 1Up the site developed a greater profile and stepped out of its sister publication's shadow, but Smith grew frustrated with the contemporary state of gaming news and what he considered manipulation of journalists and readers into accepting promotional material as news. Luke Smith is a Keyboardist from Manchester, England, who has worked with numerous world class artists including George Michael, Eric Clapton, Rosie Gaines, Whitney Houston, Roy Ayers, Frank McComb, B. B. King, Phil Collins, Shaggy, Chaka Khan, Lulu, BeBe and CeCe Winans, Andrae Crouch and Noel Robinson. In 1992 Luke spent two years with the pop group Hot Chocolate on their European tour as their main keyboard player. Luke Smith (volleyball)
Luke Smith (born 30 August 1990 in Jakarta, Indonesia) is an Australian professional volleyballer. Smith was born in Jakarta to an Indonesian mother and English father, before moving to Albany, Western Australia, where he spent much of his early life. His family moved to Norway, before settling in the suburb of Rossmoyne near Perth. He started playing volleyball in grade 10 at Aquinas College in Salter Point. He since spent time on a scholarship at the Australian Institute of Sport (AIS) in Canberra, and spent two years playing semi-professionally for Linkoping Volleyball Club in Linkoping, Sweden. Whilst at the AIS he played in the 2008 Youth and 2010 Junior Asian Championships. He made his debut for the Australian national volleyball team in 2011 against Thailand at the age of 20. Luke Smith (born 9 February 1971 in East London, Eastern Cape, South Africa – died 16 July 2021) was a professional rugby union player. He played at fly-half for Glasgow Caledonians, now Glasgow Warriors; as well as Racing 92 and Saracens among others. He signed for Glasgow in 1998 from Border Bulldogs in South Africa. He was Scottish-qualified as his grandmother, Rachel Watson, was from Edinburgh. He made the move in the hope of representing Scotland.
