Luke Preston
Luke Preston (born 26 May 1976) is a Welsh judoka. Biography The oldest of three brothers, Preston grew up in Criftins, Shropshire. As a child, he attended Criftins CE School (primary education), followed by Lakelands Academy, Ellesmere. He is a three times champion of Great Britain, winning the half-middleweight division at the British Judo Championships in 1997, 1999 and 2000. At the 2002 Commonwealth Games in Manchester, representing Wales he claimed the bronze medal in the -81kg division. Ellesmere, Shropshire
Ellesmere ( ) is a town in Shropshire, England, located near the Welsh border and the towns of Oswestry, Whitchurch and Wrexham. It is notable for its proximity to a number of prominent Meres. History Ellesmere Castle was probably an 11th-century motte-and-bailey castle most likely built by either Roger de Montgomerie, 1st Earl of Shrewsbury, or his son Roger the Poitevin at Castlefields overlooking the Mere. Only its earthworks now remain, with the top of the motte being used for the bowling green, which still commands a fine view. In 1114, King Henry I gave Ellesmere to William Peverel as a part of the Maelor, which included Overton & Whittington at that time. His descendants retained Ellesmere until apparently the late 1140s when the lordship was acquired, probably by force, by Madog ap Maredudd of Powys. Euan Burton
Euan Michael Burton MBE (born 31 March 1979) is a Scottish judoka (a Judo practitioner). Biography Burton was born in Ascot, Berkshire but lives in Edinburgh, he was educated at Pencaitland Primary School, Ross High School and the University of Edinburgh. He was an Individual Bursar in 1998-99 at the University. He won the Scottish National Championship in 2000 before winning his first two championships of Great Britain, winning the half-middleweight division at the British Judo Championships in 2002 and 2003. He won a bronze medal at the 2007 World Judo Championships before representing Great Britain at the 2008 Summer Olympics in Beijing, competing in the men's 81kg division and reaching the qaurter finals. Graeme Randall, MBE (born 14 March 1975) is a Scottish judoka. He competed at the 1996 Summer Olympics and the 2000 Summer Olympics, and won gold medals in the 81 kg division at both the 1999 World Judo Championships and 2002 Commonwealth Games. Biography Randall was educated at Lasswade High School, Midlothian, and the University of Edinburgh, where he completed a degree in Physical Education. In 1996, he was selected for Great Britain to compete at the Olympic Games in Atlanta, Georgia. Competing in the -78kg division, he lost his first round match and failed to progress any further. The following year in 1997, he finished fifth at the 1997 World Judo Championships.
