Luke Martin
Luke Martin (born 22 January 1981) is an Australian former professional basketball player who spent the majority of his career playing in the National Basketball League (NBL). In 2004 and 2005, he represented the Australian national team. Early life Born and raised in Sydney to a Kiwi father and an Australian mother, Martin moved to the United States in 1998, where he attended St. John's College High School in Washington, D.C. before playing one season of college basketball for the UTEP Miners in 2001–02. In 23 games for the Miners, he averaged 2.9 points and 1.6 assists per game. Professional career ANBL Martin returned to Australia in 2002 and joined the West Sydney Razorbacks for the 2002–03 season. After just one season with the Razorbacks, he moved across town and joined the Sydney Kings. Point Guard
The point guard (PG), also called the one or the point, is one of the five Basketball positions, positions in a regulation basketball game. A point guard has perhaps the most specialized role of any position. Point guards are expected to run the team's offense by controlling the ball and making sure that it gets to the right player at the right time. Above all, the point guard must understand and accept their coach's game plan; in this way, the position can be compared to a quarterback in American football. List Of NBL Champions
The National Basketball League (NBL) Grand Final is the championship series at the conclusion of the NBL to determine the NBL champion. Between 1979 and 1986, the league used a single game to determine the champion. From 1986 to 2003, the league used a best-of-three series format. The 2004 series saw a switch a to best-of-five format. In 2010, the series reverted back to a best-of-three format once again until 2017 when it switched back to best-of-five. Tywain McKee
Tywain "Ty" McKee (born March 7, 1986) is an American professional basketball player for BC Borisfen of the Belarusian Premier League. He played college basketball for Coppin State University, where he was named the MEAC Player of the Year in 2009. McKee played professional basketball in Australia, Belarus, Russia, Germany, Israel, France, Turkey, Poland and Greece. College career McKee played college basketball at Coppin State University and was a member of the 2007–08 Eagles team that went to the NCAA tournament with a 16–20 record. He was also the 2008 player of the year for the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference. The 2009–10 NBL season was the 32nd season of competition since its establishment in 1979. A total of eight teams contested the league. The 48-minute game switched to a 40-minute game. The 2008–09 NBL season was the 31st season of competition since its establishment in 1979. A total of 10 teams contested the league. 2008–09 league participants * On 30 June 2008 the Brisbane Bullets confirmed they would be handing back the team's license to the NBL. 2006–07 NBL Season
The 2006–07 NBL season was the 29th season of competition since its establishment in 1979. For the first time, a team was established from outside the Australasian area, with the Singapore Slingers taking over the licence of the Hunter Pirates. A new franchise, the South Dragons, was established in Melbourne, taking the number of teams to twelve. College Basketball
In United States colleges, top-tier basketball is governed by collegiate athletic bodies including National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA), the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA), the United States Collegiate Athletic Association (USCAA), the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA), and the National Christian College Athletic Association (NCCAA).
