Luke Howard (musician)
Luke Howard is an Australian composer and pianist. A piano student growing up in Melbourne, he was encouraged to develop his first improvisations by his piano teacher, Nehama Patkin. Later he studied at the Victorian College of the Arts. His album ''The Sand That Ate The Sea'' saw him nominated for ARIA Award for Best Original Soundtrack, Cast or Show Album at the ARIA Music Awards of 2019. It is the soundtrack to a film by Matthew Thorne that looks at the opal mining town Andamooka, South Australia. The ARIA Music Awards of 2019 are the 33rd Annual Australian Recording Industry Association Music Awards (generally known as ARIA Music Awards or simply The ARIAs) and consist of a series of awards, including the 2019 ARIA Artisan Awards, ARIA Hall of Fame Awards, and ARIA Fine Arts Awards and the ARIA Awards. Nadje Noordhuis
Nadje Noordhuis is an Australian trumpeter, composer and educator based in New York. Noordhuis is from Sydney, Australia where she attended The Forest High School. She briefly studied sound engineering before moving to Melbourne to study trumpet and improvisation at the Victorian College of the Arts. She then travelled to New York where she completed her master's degree at Manhattan School of Music. She runs music label Little Mystery Records. In 2007 Noordhuis was a semi-finalist in the Thelonious Monk International Jazz Trumpet Competition. She was then selected as a Carnegie Hall Young Artist in 2010, where she studied with Dave Douglas. She has collaborated with Geoffrey Keezer, Maria Schnieder Jazz Orchestra and Arooj Aftab. The 2020 ARIA Music Awards are the 34th Annual Australian Recording Industry Association Music Awards (generally known as ARIA Music Awards or simply The ARIAs) and consist of a series of awards, including the 2020 ARIA Artisan Awards, ARIA Hall of Fame Awards, ARIA Fine Arts Awards and the ARIA Awards.
