'' Home and Away'' is an Australian soap opera first broadcast on the Seven Network on 17 January 1988. The following is a list of characters that first appeared in 1993, by order of first appearance. Home And Away
''Home and Away'' (often abbreviated as ''H&A'') is an Australian television soap opera. It was created by Alan Bateman and commenced broadcast on the Seven Network on 17 January 1988. Bateman came up with the concept of the show during a trip to Kangaroo Point, New South Wales, where he noticed locals were complaining about the construction of a foster home and against the idea of foster children from the city living in the area. The soap opera was initially going to be called ''Refuge'', but the name was changed to the "friendlier" title of ''Home and Away'' once production began. The show premiered with a ninety-minute pilot episode (subsequently in re-runs and on VHS known as ''Home and Away: The Movie''). Since then, each subsequent episode has aired for a duration of twenty-two minutes. Roxanne "Roxy" Miller is a fictional character from the Australian soap opera ''Home and Away'', played by Lisa Lackey. She made her first screen appearance in the episode broadcast on 13 October 1992 and departed on 9 February 1995. Casting Lackey played Roxanne from 1992 until 1995. Lackey was working as a model when she was approached by the producers of ''Home and Away'' to play Roxanne. She was due to fly out to Japan when the offer came through. Ailsa Stewart
Ailsa Stewart (also Hogan) is a fictional character from the Australian television soap opera ''Home and Away'', played by Judy Nunn. She made her first appearance during the episode broadcast on 17 January 1988. Ailsa was married to Alf Stewart and had a son Duncan. When Nunn decided to leave to devote more time with her novels, she was one of only four original cast members. Sofie Formica (born 29 June 1971 Brisbane, Queensland, Australia) is an Australian radio and television presenter best known for hosting Queensland-based lifestyle show ''The Great South East'' on the Seven Network from 1997 until 2016. Damian Roberts is a fictional character from the Australian Channel Seven soap opera ''Home and Away'', played by Matt Doran. Summer Bay
Summer Bay is the fictional coastal town featured in the Australian soap opera, '' Home and Away''. Palm Beach, the most Northern beach of Sydney, is used for the show's exterior scenes in order to depict the Bay. Between 2010 and 2014, the Lane Cove River Tourist Park in Macquarie Park was used as the location for filming of scenes involving the Summer Bay Caravan Park.
