The Lukas Enembe Stadium, formerly known as Papua Bangkit Stadium (''Rising Papua Stadium''), is a multi-purpose stadium located within the Lukas Enembe Sports Complex in Jayapura Regency, Papua, Indonesia. Located between the Cyclops Mountains and Lake Sentani, the stadium takes up 71,697 square meters of land and can accommodate more than 40,263 spectators. Jayapura Regency
Jayapura Regency is one of the regencies (''kabupaten'') in Papua Province of Indonesia. It is situated to the west of but does not include the city of Jayapura. Previously covering most of the north-east portion of Papua province, it was reduced substantially in extent from 12 November 2002, when the eastern districts were split off to form a new Keerom Regency and the western districts were split off to form a new Sarmi Regency. It now covers an area of 17,516.6 km2, and had a population of 111,943 at the 2010 Census and 166,171 at the 2020 Census; the official estimate as at mid 2021 was 168,476. The administrative centre is the district of Sentani, with 72,443 inhabitants in mid 2021. Lukas Enembe
Lukas Enembe (born 27 July 1967) is an Indonesian politician who serves as Governor of Papua Province since April 2013. He had previously served as Regent of Puncak Jaya Regency between 2007 and 2012, and Vice Regent of the same regency from 2001 until 2006. In September 2017, Enembe was called on by the Corruption Eradication Commission as a suspect in a graft case; supporters of Enembe protested at the National Human Rights Commission, claiming that the issue was politicized due to the 2018 gubernatorial election in Papua. The Commission later named Enembe as a witness in a graft case involving misappropriation of scholarship funds in Papua, and Enembe met with the Commission face-to-face to clarify his wealth report. The Lukas Enembe Stadium in Jayapura Regency, used as venue for the opening ceremony of Indonesia's 2020 National Sports Week is named after him.
