Luisa Valverde
Luisa Elizabeth Valverde Melendres (born 4 July 1991) is an Ecuadorian freestyle wrestler. She is a two-time gold medalist at the South American Games (2018 and 2022) and a bronze medalist at the 2023 Pan American Games held in Santiago, Chile. She also won medals at the Pan American Wrestling Championships. Career Valverde won one of the bronze medals in the women's 51kg event at the 2010 South American Games held in Medellín, Colombia. Valverde won the gold medal in the 55kg event at the 2014 Pan American Wrestling Championships held in Mexico City, Mexico. At the 2017 Pan American Wrestling Championships held in Lauro de Freitas, Brazil, she won one of the bronze medals in the 53 kg event. In March 2020, Valverde competed at the Pan American Olympic Qualification Tournament held in Ottawa, Canada hoping to qualify for the 2020 Summer Olympics in Tokyo, Japan. 2021 World Wrestling Championships
The 2021 World Wrestling Championships was the 17th edition of the World Wrestling Championships of combined events and was held from 2 to 10 October 2021 in Oslo, Norway. The event was subsequent to the 2019 World Championships due to the cancelation of the 2020 edition during the COVID-19 pandemic. South American Games
The South American Games (also known as ODESUR Games; Spanish: ''Juegos Suramericanos''; Portuguese: ''Jogos Sul-Americanos''), formerly the Southern Cross Games (Spanish: ''Juegos Cruz del Sur'') is a regional multi-sport event held between nations from South America, organized by the ODESUR (acronym for "Organización Deportiva Suramericana" – ''South American Sports Organization''. The first Games were held in 1978 in La Paz, Bolivia. They have since been held every four years, with the most recent edition in 2018 in Cochabamba, Bolivia. The 2020 Olympic Wrestling Pan American Qualification Tournament was the first regional qualifying tournament for the 2020 Summer Olympics. The event was held from 13 to 15 March 2020, in Ottawa, Canada. Qualification summary A total of 36 athletes secured a spot in the 2020 Summer Olympics, in Tokyo. The 2023 Pan American Games ( es, Juegos Panamericanos de 2023, links=no), officially the XIX Pan American Games and commonly known as Santiago 2023, is a forthcoming international multi-sport event governed by the Panam Sports Organization, scheduled to be held in Santiago, Chile from 20 October to 5 November 2023. The 2023 Ibrahim Moustafa Tournament, was a wrestling event held in Alexandria, Egypt between 23 and 26 February 2023. It was held as the second of the ranking series of United World Wrestling in 2023. With an aim to reward wrestlers participating in Ranking Series tournaments, the United World Wrestling will award prize money to the medal winners in all weight classes with a total prize money of 390,000 Swiss Francs. The gold medal winners at the four Ranking Series tournaments in 2023 will receive 1500 Swiss Francs with the silver medallists getting 750 Swiss Francs. The 60th Dan Kolov & Nikola Petrov Tournament, is a wrestling event held in Sofia, Bulgaria between 2 and 5 March 2023. This international tournament included competition in both men's and women's freestyle wrestling and men's Greco-Roman wrestling. The 2017 Bolivarian Games, officially the XVIII Bolivarian Games, was an international multi-sport event that was held from 11–25 November 2017, in Santa Marta, Colombia.
