Luis Álvaro de Oliveira Ribeiro (December 16, 1942 – August 16, 2016), commonly known as LAOR, was a Brazilian businessman of the real estate industry. He was president of Santos FC from 2009 to 2014. History Born in Santos on December 16, 1942, Luis Álvaro Ribeiro de Oliveira was the Santos FC's advisor for 17 years, Luis was a presidential candidate in 2003 from the entrepreneur Marcelo Teixeira, reaching 990 votes. "My doctor and my family called me crazy for taking the candidacy, because in July 2003 I had suffered a stroke and four heart attacks. But the love for Santos spoke louder, and two months after seeing death up close I was there as a candidate", says Luís Álvaro. The 2012 Recopa Sudamericana (officially the 2012 Recopa Santander Sudamericana for sponsorship reasons) was the 20th edition of the Recopa Sudamericana, the football competition organized by CONMEBOL between the winners of the previous season's two major South American club tournaments, the Copa Libertadores and the Copa Sudamericana. It was contested between Brazilian club Santos, the 2011 Copa Libertadores champion, and Chilean club Universidad de Chile, the 2011 Copa Sudamericana champion. After a goalless first leg, Santos was crowned champions after their 2–0 victory in the second leg. Neymar of Santos was selected as the player of the 2012 Recopa Sudamericana. It is the highest level of competition in South American club football. The Copa do Brasil ( en, Brazil Cup) is a knockout football competition played by 92 teams, representing all 26 Brazilian states plus the Federal District. It is the Brazilian domestic cup and the Brazilian equivalent of the FA Cup, Taça de Portugal, Copa del Rey, Scottish Cup and Copa Argentina.
