Luis Roldán
Luis Roldán Ibáñez (16 August 1943 – 24 March 2022) was a Spanish Socialist Workers' Party politician known for being the director general of the Civil Guard (Spain), Civil Guard when a big scandal of corruption arose in 1993. This case, along with the Grupos Antiterroristas de Liberación, GAL case, greatly contributed to the defeat of the PSOE in the 1996 Spanish general election, 1996 general election. Upon initiation of prosecution for his criminal activities, Roldán escaped from Spain in 1994. He surrendered in 1995 at the airport in Bangkok. Between 1996 and 1998 he was tried in a court in Madrid. He was sentenced to 28 years in prison for embezzlement, bribery, tax evasion, and fraud, which the Supreme Court increased to 31 years. He was from February 1995 in the prison of Brieva (Province of Ávila, Ávila), which is normally used to house women offenders but has a secluded unit in which men can serve their sentences. Fernando Sánchez Dragó (2 October 1936 – 10 April 2023) was a Spanish writer and television host. Biography Fernando Sánchez Dragó was born in the Salamanca (Madrid), Salamanca district of Madrid, the posthumous son of Fernando Sánchez Monreal, a journalist who was killed in the Spanish Civil War by the Francoist Nationalist faction (Spanish Civil War), Nationalist faction. His father was director of the news agency Febus, as well as director of the agency Noti-Sport. Sánchez was a student at the Colegio del Pilar (Madrid), Colegio del Pilar and at the University of Madrid (now known as the Complutense University of Madrid, Complutense). Felipe González Márquez (; born 5 March 1942) is a Spanish lawyer, professor, and politician, who was the Secretary-General of the Spanish Socialist Workers' Party (PSOE) from 1974 to 1997, and the 3rd Prime Minister of Spain since the restoration of democracy, from 1982 to 1996. He remains the longest-serving Prime Minister of Spain to be freely elected. González joined the PSOE in 1964, when it was banned under the Francoist regime. José Luis Corcuera (born 1944) is a Spanish politician who served as interior minister of Spain from 1988 to 1993. Early life Corcuera hails from a Basque family. He was born in 1944 and was raised in Bilbao. He left school at 14. Career Corcuera headed the General Workers Union, a socialist trade union. He was a member of the Spanish Congress of Deputies, representing Biscay Province from 1982 to 1986 and Burgos Province from 1993 to 1994. He was appointed interior minister to the cabinet led by Prime Minister Felipe González in a reshuffle on 12 July 1988, replacing José Barrionuevo in the post. Antoni Asunción Hernández (12 July 1951 – 5 March 2016) was a Spanish politician of the Spanish Socialist Workers' Party (PSOE). He was Minister of Interior between 1993 and 1994. He also served as member of the Congress of Deputies during the V Legislature (1993–1996). Career Asunción was born on 12 July 1951 in Manises. He started his political career as alcalde (mayor) of his hometown in the 1970s. He was elected in the 1979 and 1983 municipal elections. He subsequently became Deputation President of Valencia. In 1988 he was named Director General of the Penitentiary Institutions under Justice Minister Enrique Múgica Herzog.
