Luis Pérez Rodríguez
Luis Pérez Rodríguez (born 16 June 1974 in Torrelaguna, Spain) is retired road racing cyclist. He competed professionally between 1995 and 2007, and last rode for the Andalucía–CajaSur team. During his career, Pérez scored two stage wins in Grand Tour events, both in the Vuelta a España. During his last season with Andalucía–CajaSur, he scored a 1st Overall in the Clásica Internacional de Alcobendas, a three-day stage race. In November 2007, before retiring from Andalucía–CajaSur, Pérez won the first annual Criterium Ciudad de Jaén race, an unofficial two-day competition held during the off-season of the UCI World Tour circuit. 2007 Vuelta A España
The 2007 Vuelta a España, the 62nd edition of the cycle race, took place from 1 September until 23 September 2007. For the first time in a decade, the race started in the region of Galicia, at Vigo, home to Óscar Pereiro, with a flat stage. It was also an unusual Vuelta because the first summit finish came already on the fourth day of racing, with a stage ending atop the famed Lagos de Covadonga. It consisted of 21 stages covering a total of , and was won by Roberto Heras of the Liberty Seguros cycling team. Halfway through the 2004 Vuelta, it appeared it would become an easy win for Heras, but in the last week his fellow countryman Santiago Pérez (cyclist), Santiago Pérez won two heavy mountain stages, thus becoming an important rival. Eventually Heras won with only 30 seconds advantage on Pérez. Pérez and Phonak (cycling team), Phonak hearing systems teammate Tyler Hamilton would later test positive for blood doping from blood samples taken during the race. The 58th edition of the ''Vuelta a España'' (Tour of Spain), a long-distance bicycle stage race and one of the three grand tours, was held from 6 September to 28 September 2003. It consisted of 21 stages covering a total of , and was won by Roberto Heras of the US Postal cycling team. Isidro Nozal lead the general classification for much of the race until succumbing to the pressure posed by Roberto Heras who closed the gap to Nozal over the final days and took the jersey in the final time trial. 1994 Vuelta A España
The 1994 Vuelta a España was the 49th Edition of the Vuelta a España, one of cycling's Grand Tours. The Vuelta started on April 25 with a short prologue around the Spanish city of Valladolid. The race came to a close on May 15 with a flat stage that stretched from Palazuelos de Eresma to the Spanish capital of Madrid. Seventeen teams entered the race, which was won by Tony Rominger of the team. Second and third respectively were the Spanish riders Mikel Zarrabeitia and Pedro Delgado. Tony Rominger became the first rider to win the Vuelta a España three consecutive times.
