Luis Ortiz (Cuban Boxer)
Luis Ortiz (born 29 March 1979) is a Cuban professional boxer. He held the WBA interim heavyweight title from 2015 to 2016, and challenged twice for the WBC heavyweight title in 2018 and 2019. As an amateur, he won a silver medal at the 2005 Boxing World Cup. Nicknamed "King Kong", he is known for his formidable punching power and counterpunching skills. As of November 2021, he is ranked as the world's eighth-best active heavyweight by '' The Ring'' magazine and the Transnational Boxing Rankings Board. Charles Davis (born November 26, 1980) is an American former professional boxer. He won the vacant WBC Latino Heavyweight title in 2004. In 2005 he won the WBC Continental Americas Cruiserweight title, defeating Gary Gomez via unanimous decision in a 10-round bout. He lost the title one year later, at the first defense. Professional career In 2004, he went to fight Arthur Williams with a record of 7-8-1. He defeated Williams via points decision after 10 rounds, going into a winning streak of 10 wins, that by December 2005 brought his record to 17-8-1. The World Boxing Organization (WBO) is an organization which sanctions professional boxing bouts. It is recognized by the International Boxing Hall of Fame (IBHOF) as one of the four major world championship groups, alongside the World Boxing Association (WBA), World Boxing Council (WBC), and International Boxing Federation (IBF).
