Luis Natera
Luis Octavio Natera (born March 22, 1966) is a Dominican professional baseball coach. He was the assistant hitting coach for the New York Mets of Major League Baseball through the 2014 season. Natera is from San Pedro de Macorís. He played in Minor League Baseball as a member of the Mets' organization from 1984 through 1988. He has worked for the Mets organization since 1990. Since 2007, he served as the hitting coach for the Binghamton Mets of the Class AA Eastern League. In 2014, the Mets promoted him to their major league staff. After the season, he was reassigned within the organization and was replaced by Pat Roessler in 2015. Coach (baseball)
In baseball, a number of coaches assist in the smooth functioning of a team. They are assistants to the manager, who determines the starting lineup and batting order, decides how to substitute players during the game, and makes strategy decisions. Beyond the manager, more than a half dozen coaches may assist the manager in running the team. Essentially, baseball coaches are analogous to assistant coaches in other sports, as the baseball manager is to the head coach. Baseball is a bat-and-ball sport played between two teams of nine players each, taking turns batting and fielding. Pat Roessler
Patrick Alan Roessler (born December 27, 1959 in Phoenix, AZ) is an American professional baseball coach. He is currently the Assistant Hitting Coach for the Washington Nationals. He was formerly the Assistant Hitting Coach for the New York Mets from 2015-2017 & Hitting Coach in 2018. Biography Roessler attended the University of Arizona, and played college baseball for the Arizona Wildcats baseball team. Roessler was a member of the 1980 College World Series champions. He served as the team's captain during his senior year, in 1982. Roessler served as the hitting coach for the Montreal Expos in 2000 and 2001 Wearing #6. He joined the New York Yankees as their director of player development in 2005, and served in the role until 2014.
