Luis Marotte
Luis Marotte (born October 14, 1944) is an Uruguayan former footballer who played as a midfielder. Career Marotte played in the National Soccer League in 1969 with Toronto Hellas. The following season he played in the North American Soccer League with Rochester Lancers. In his debut season he assisted Rochester in securing the double (Northern Division & Soccer Bowl), and contributed a goal in the final series against Washington Darts. He re-signed with Rochester for the 1971 season, but failed to make an appearance due to contractual obligations with a Mexican club he played with. In 1972, he played in the Primera División de México with C.D. Irapuato. In 1973, he played in the American Soccer League with Cincinnati Comets. In his debut season with Cincinnati he assisted in securing the Midwest Conference title, and featured in the ASL Championship final against New York Apollo. The New York Greeks was an American soccer club based in New York City that was a member of the American Soccer League. The team began as the amateur Greek-Americans. The club played lower Premier Division of the German American Soccer League which was based in the New York metropolitan area. The team won the Premier Division championship in 1950/51 and was promoted to the upper Major "Big 12" Division for the following season. Following their last place finish in the 1953/54 season, the club was relegated. The team was again promoted to the upper division for the 1960/61 season. The Los Angeles Soccer League was a regional association football, soccer league consisting of clubs based in and around Los Angeles. Established as the California Football Association, the league was founded in 1902 and it is one of the oldest soccer leagues in the United States (alongside the Cosmopolitan Soccer League and the Chicago League).
