Luigi Barbasetti
Luigi Barbasetti (* 21. February 1859 in Cividale del Friuli; † 31. March 1948 in Verona) was an Italian fencing master and reformer. His teacher was fencing master Giuseppe Radaelli Giuseppe Radaelli (1833 - 1882) was a 19th-century Milanese fencing master and soldier. Often regarded as "the father of modern sabre fencing", his sabre fencing principles were popularised throughout Europe via his students such as Luigi Barbasetti ..., who trained him to be a "military master of arms". Barbasetti's second teacher was fencing master Masaniello Parise from the Masters School in Rome. After training he taught at the Masters School in Rome. Masaniello Parise
Masaniello (, ; an abbreviation of Tommaso Aniello; 29 June 1620 – 16 July 1647) was an Italian fisherman who became leader of the 1647 revolt against the rule of Habsburg Spain in the Kingdom of Naples. Name and place of birth Until recently it was believed that Masaniello was a native of Amalfi, when in fact he was born in Vico Rotto al Mercato, one of the many lanes around the market square in Naples. The source of this misunderstanding is that Amalfi was simply part of his name, but has been traditionally interpreted as a reference to his place of origin. Some sources do argue that Tommaso Aniello was born in Amalfi, where he was a friend of another unique character, Abbot Pirone, so named because he improperly used his habit to escape justice but who was in reality a bandit who would kill for a fee, and who would have been Tommaso's collaborator during the Neapolitan uprising. Archduke Franz Salvator of Austria (21 August 1866 – 20 April 1939) was the son of Archduke Karl Salvator of Austria and Princess Maria Immacolata of Bourbon-Two Sicilies. He married Archduchess Marie Valerie in 1890, though, due to Marie Valerie’s death in 1924, remarried in 1934 to Baroness Melanie von Riesenfels. During World War I, Franz Salvator received a doctorate in medicine for his work with Red Cross.
