Luicidal is a punk rock band from Venice, Los Angeles, California, formed in 2012. The band consists of Mando Ochoa (vocals), Mike Avilez (vocals), Louichi Mayorga (bass/guitar), R.J. Herrera (drums), Gene Duarte (guitar), and Doug Mug Swanson (bass). Band history Bassist Louiche Mayorga decided to form Luicidal with his former Suicidal Tendencies bandmate R.J. Herrera after he missed "being on the stage as an artist". In order to put the band together, they were joined by Mando Ochoa (Sick Sense) on vocals and Ricky Reynaga (Rated X, Rolling Papers and Sancho's Revenge) on guitar. Luicidal performs songs from Suicidal Tendencies' first three studio albums, ''Suicidal Tendencies'', ''Join the Army'' and ''How Will I Laugh Tomorrow When I Can't Even Smile Today''; the first two featured Mayorga on bass, while the last two featured Herrera on drums. ''Luicidal'' is the debut album by the American punk rock band Luicidal, released on October 14, 2014. Overview ''Luicidal'' features multiple musicians including three of the four members of the ''Join the Army'' era Suicidal Tendencies lineup (Louiche Mayorga, R.J. Herrera and Rocky George) as well as Grant Estes and Amery Smith, who played guitar and drums respectively on Suicidal Tendencies' 1983 self-titled debut album. Suicidal Tendencies is an American crossover thrash band formed in 1980 in Venice in Los Angeles, California by vocalist Mike Muir. Muir is the only remaining original member of the band. Along with D.R.I., Corrosion of Conformity, and Stormtroopers of Death, the band is often credited as one of "the fathers of crossover thrash". Their current lineup includes Muir, guitarists Dean Pleasants and Ben Weinman, bassist Ra Díaz and drummer Dave Lombardo. ''Suicidal Tendencies'' is the debut studio album by American hardcore punk band Suicidal Tendencies, released on July 5, 1983 through Frontier Records. Regarded as one of the best-selling and most successful punk rock albums, ''Suicidal Tendencies'' was well-received by fans and critics alike, and the airplay of its only single " Institutionalized" (for which its music video was one of the first hardcore punk videos to get airplay on MTV) brought the band considerable popularity. Dale Henderson
Dale Henderson (born January 8, 1966) is an American musician. He is best known as the frontman and guitarist of the crossover thrash band Beowülf where he is the only constant member. He composed the music and wrote the lyrics on all of Beowülf's albums. Biography Henderson's musical career began in 1981 when he joined the local punk band Black Sheep. The band also consisted of former Neighborhood Watch former Mike Jensen, Paul Yamada on bass and Mike Jensen's cousin, Roger DeGiacomi, on drums. The band played many parties, bars and clubs in Venice in 1981–1982 before DeGiacomi became the band manager and was replaced by Michael Alvarado on drums in 1983, changing the name of the band to Beowülf or BWF (The F being inverted) as they wrote it in Venice "graffiti slang". Beowülf is an American crossover thrash metal band formed in Venice Beach, California, in 1981 by Michael Alvarado, Dale Henderson, Mike Jensen and Paul Yamada. The group never gained a large mainstream success, but is considered one of the first bands that defined the "Venice Scene" in the 1980s, along with Suicidal Tendencies, Los Cycos, Neighborhood Watch, No Mercy, Excel and Uncle Slam, who all played a mix of skate punk, hardcore, heavy metal and thrash. It was released on September 13, 1988 on Epic Records, the band's first album on that label. It was also their first album recorded with guitarist Mike Clark and their only release with bassist Bob Heathcote, who was replaced by Robert Trujillo in 1989. Album information ''How Will I Laugh...'' is crucial to Suicidal Tendencies stylistic developments in that it sees the band abandoning most of their full-fledged punk influences in favor of a more thrash-oriented sound. Bad Brains are an American rock band formed in Washington, D.C. in 1976. Rocky George
Leonard F. George (born January 9, 1965), best known by his stage name Rocky George, is an American guitarist who has been a member of several notable musical acts, including Suicidal Tendencies, where he was their lead guitarist from 1984 to their first breakup in 1995, and was the first African-American member of the band. After Suicidal Tendencies, George played with 40 Cycle Hum and Cro-Mags, and in 2003, he joined Fishbone. George was also a member of a local punk rock band called Pap Smear with Jeff Hanneman and Dave Lombardo. In 2019, George returned to the Cro-Mags lineup.
