Ludwig Vogelstein
Ludwig Vogelstein (February 3, 1871 – September 23, 1934) was a Bohemian-born American industrialist and philanthropist. Biography Vogelstein was born to a Jewish family in Pilsen, Austria-Hungary (now the Czech Republic) in 1871. he was the second son of rabbi Heinemann Vogelstein and sibling of :de:Hermann Vogelstein, :de:Theodor Vogelstein, and Julie Braun-Vogelstein. In Germany, he worked for ''Aron Hirsch & Sohn Aron Hirsch (6 February 1858 – 22 February 1942) was a German metal trader. Biography Hirsch was born to a Jewish family on 6 February 1858 in Halberstadt, Germany. In 1877, he joined the family business, metal trading company ''Aron Hirsch & ...'', then one of the largest metal traders in the world. World Union For Progressive Judaism
The World Union for Progressive Judaism (WUPJ) is the international umbrella organization for the various branches of Reform, Liberal and Progressive Judaism, as well as the separate Reconstructionist Judaism. The WUPJ is based in 40 countries with 1,275 affiliated synagogues, of which 1,170 are Reform, Progressive, or Liberal and 105 Reconstructionist. It claims to represent a total of some 1.8 million people, both registered constituents and non-member identifiers.
