Ludmila Radkova
Ms Lyudmila Radkova-Traykova is a Bulgarian folk singer, performing folklore from the Balkans, who became world known as a soloist at the Filip Kutev Ensemble, and at the orchestra of Goran Bregovic. She is sister of the Bulgarian folk singer Daniela Radkova. Biography Lyudmila Radkova was born in a family with strong musical traditions. Her mother – Liliana Zhivkova – is a librarian, and performer in amateur arts. Her father – Radko Yankov is known for his voice and dancing skills. Ludmila Radkova graduated the musical school in Kotel, Bulgaria, in 1987, and after exams is accepted to sing at the Filip Kutev Ensemble. Soon her soprano voice, filled with overtones, distinguishes her among the other singers, and she becomes soloist performer of all great songs of the ensemble. Her talent has a feel of lyricism, softness, femininity, and force, typical for the Bulgarian female singers. Levski, Bulgaria
Levski ( bg, Левски ) is a town in central northern Bulgaria, an administrative center of the homonymous Levski Municipality in the very southeast of Pleven Province. Geography Levski Municipality is located on a territory of 414 km2 in the Danubian plain, Tuchenishko-Dolnoosomski region. Filip Kutev ( bg, Филип Кутев), often anglicized Philip Koutev (13 June 1903 – 27 November 1982), was a Bulgarian composer, arranger and founder, with his wife Maria Kuteva, in 1951, of Bulgaria's first professional, state supported ensemble, the State Ensemble for Folk Song and Dance, also known as the Filip Kutev Ensemble. With his ensemble he pioneered a style of arranging folk songs by fusing folk elements with western classical forms and harmonies, and established a new Bulgarian choral tradition. ''Underground'' ( sr, Подземље / ''Podzemlje''), is a 1995 comedy-drama film directed by Emir Kusturica, with a screenplay co-written with Dušan Kovačević. It is also known by the subtitle ''Once Upon a Time There Was One Country'' ( sr, italic=yes, Била једном једна земља/Bila jednom jedna zemlja), the title of the five-hour miniseries (the long cut) shown on Serbian RTS television. The film uses the epic story of two friends to portray a Yugoslav history from the beginning of World War II until the beginning of the Yugoslav Wars.
